Not a pleasant experience on my last visit. It started with table reservation, the person who was managing the table reservation at the restaurant (don't know the name), he gave a bad experience even before we entered the restaurant, apparently the table booking over the website is not monitored & in the end the customer has to suffer. He was not even apologetic about this mistake from them & was being quite argumentative, since this restaurant is off city limits of Frankfurt, we had no other choice than negotiating by sharing a table, else I would have happily turned back to a different restaurant.
Next coming to the food, it was good with taste I must say, it was proper Indian heat & taste level, kudos to the chef. However, their thali option would be a bad choice, because the food served was cold as the dishes are made in bulk & temperature is not maintained, who would want to have cold food in freezing Winters??
Then the unlimited Thali gimmick! It is like asking for a dish every single time & expecting strange looks as how much we are asking to get the dishes again & again, if you want the customer to enjoy freely without any hassle of asking things again & again just arrange a buffet!! which is actually the meaning of unlimited. Paying almost (€18.50) such a huge price & asking for server every time what is needed is really a bad & cunning strategy. On top of that things which are promised are only served when asked for! like the dessert!
All in all, not a good approach by the table booking management person at the front door which spoilt all the mood of eating at a restaurant to begin with & to cold food & asking someone to get something again & again was not a good evening to spend. But I can applaud for the food & taste which was something good to overcome this bad experience.
Update to the guy who called me back again and spoilt my mental peace for the review, sorry if this is the way you call back reviewers to harrass and do damage control then no wonder you have 4.5: decreased 1 more star because of your horrible attitude and the way you spoke over the phone, If you cannot take positive or constructive criticism you should remove your place from Google. And FYI I don't have any interest in taking names here, I have respect for everyone running a business, the only reason the name was asked to have a healthy conversation from start. Sorry, but this was hopelessly handled by you over the call again blabbering the same thing again and again, you did not do any great favor by giving me a table, it's your duty and job to serve the customer and get good customer review and not some favour. If you want to have a good conversation, then please don't call through the same guy. All the...
Read moreI don't know how all these positive ratings came to pass. Probably all friends of the owner who want to push the place. This is by no means or any reasonable category a 4+ star establishment.
The most important thing first: Food was alright but nothing special. I've eaten much better Indian food in Germany before. My wife ordered her dish not spicy after the waiter explicitly asked what spice level we wanted. It came hot enough so she couldn't eat it. I know that there is a cultural difference and I like spicy myself but it should be possible to make this so even the most picky european can palate the food.
Starters and sides were tasty.
Now for the ambience. The decor in the restaurant is outdated and in poor repair. The wall decorations look nice until you pay closer attention. Wallpaper coming off, dust and cobwebs on the lamps, tacky dustcatchers everywhere. This doesn't help me feel at home.
We got extra-unlucky as at the day we booked our table for 4 (+ toddler) there was a scheduled music evening unbeknownst to us. No mention of that on their website and neither when I called to book the table.
Granted, I don't know anything about Indian music but I can tell when a guitar is out of tune or someone can't hold a pitch while singing. It was ... special. The restaurant filled in with spectators and we were asked to leave so they could use the table for someone else. Not what I would call relaxed or hospitable. Overall the place has maybe 20 seats (not sure if the corner the "band" took over would hold more guests) and feels crowded even when empty.
Before we left I had the misfortune to visit the toilets which only reinforced the impression I had gotten from the restaurant. Not very tidy. In disrepair and very very old. We definitely won't be...
Read moreHorrible experience with this restaurant for home delivery. I ordered Butter Naan and they sent Plain Naan and when called the person on the call was continuously arguing rudely instead of apologizing. Even added delivery charges without informing, saying he was too busy to tell about the delivery charges. Poor service and not customer friendly.
Adding further details and photos to call the bluff of the claims made by the owner in his response. The picture attached shows clearly no butter was added. Tasted the naan and then called you (I trust you understand butter taste will not be absorbed ;)) as there was no butter and you continuously argued and claimed butter was there, instead you went ahead and even said "You don't give plain naan at all".
You said restaurant was busy and had to speak louder - I am not naive who doesn't understand difference between rudeness and someone trying to speak loudly. Please at least stand and own up your fault when you do one...
Anyways as you said I have been ordering from past 4 months regularly so something seriously wrong you must have done which prompted to write such a review...
Another lady who previously had sent burst rotis had apologized in the past which I appreciate and possibly I continued for getting food from your restaurant. Atleast learn something from the lady and please don't spread lie and something that...
