Updated version: Maybe I didn’t explain it clearly. In Most of the other Indian restaurants I visited, they use chicken leg meat. Because the meat tastes more delicate than chicken breast meat. Yes, the waitress asked me if everything is ok, and I said yes. I meant that the food is ok. It’s just not the food I expected in an almost 5 stars restaurant. Overall the service was good and friendly. This is my opinion. I’m sorry if you don’t like it.
Old Review: We went to the place because of its high scores. We visited couple Indian restaurants before and kind of know the speciality and flavor of this cuisine. I expected the same from this one. Unfortunately it was not a really good experience for us. We ordered chicken curry and lamb curry. About the chicken curry, they used the normal chicken breast filet, not the chicken leg meat, and the curry tasted like sweet chili sauces. The lamb was overcooked. And the Naan is just ok. Therefore I just want to give three stars. I hope they will hire a better Indian chef...
Read moreI’ll start naming the only good thing of this restaurant: ‘the food’. However, here you can’t expect a good service, or a good atmosphere, or a good beverage offer, or, or, or, … it’s a shame that owners’re not able to understand about eating-outside culture. People go outside to enjoy and to relax. BUT, if you’re planning to eat out in Freiburg or generally in Germany, expect to be in stress instead. Once you arrive to a restaurant, you’re told that the kitchen is soon to be closed, that the beer or the white wine is not cold, that they don’t have this or they don’t have that, that they don’t accept cards, that you need to eat as fast as you can, etc. For you to understand what I’m talking about, .. ‘the main waitress here kicked us out when we still had a half bottle of wine to be finished, because they simply wanted to close, (21:30h)’. I wish one day the restaurant’s staff learn how to give a positive welcome to their...
Read moreWe did not have the best experience. It was pretty clear they forgot our order, 4-5 tables that sat down after us received their order first. Even when we did receive our main dishes (vindaloo - very good; mixed platter - just ok - the accompanying sauce was close to a tomato sauce and surprised by the cabbage but it is Germany) but the naan was missing. Had to ask for it twice and then when received the normal naan, the garlic one was still missing… Other things that I would normally ignore - forgot to give us menus, didnt offer a child seat although saw one in the rain outside, skipping over our table when checking in on others, not addressing how obviously long our food was taking. Staff was friendly aside from the screw ups. Admittedly, we had 2 kids and the 1yr old was quite fussy but all the more reason to work through our table faster to give the other patrons...
