Café Birds — Restaurant in Göttingen

One of my favourites just for the location and the ambience.

The coffee itself is pretty average. Often tends to be straight up lukewarm. Cakes, again, can be hit or miss. The Parisienne breakfast is pretty good and with seasonal accents.

Service though, is iffy. If you're sitting inside in the beautiful, cosy space it's obviously attentive since you're right there. If you're sitting outside though; forget it. We've had to go in and request them to come out and take our orders (or even request the bill) every single time we've gone there. They more or less forget about the...

I absolutely LOVE this place. The best coffee shop in Göttingen. If someone asked me what Madame Rosmerta's cafe from Harry Potter looked like in real life, I would probably say this is it. :D The interior is very cozy, with mismatched chairs, nice old couches and small tables. Both coffee and matcha here are good and all the cakes and desserts that I have tried were delicious, maybe just a bit overpriced. Birds ist definitiv mein absolutes Lieblingscafé in Göttingen. Es ist klein, fein und spiegelt die Atmosphäre der Stadt perfekt wider. Die Mitarbeiter sind immer super freundlich und zuvorkommend, was den Besuch jedes Mal zu einem besonderen Erlebnis macht.

An manchen Tagen könnte ich stundenlang dort bleiben und einfach die entspannte Atmosphäre genießen. Besonders gefällt mir die Vielfalt im Café, sowohl bei den Gästen als auch beim Kuchenangebot – es gibt immer wieder neue, leckere Kreationen, die man probieren kann.

Für mich hat das Birds noch eine ganz besondere Bedeutung: Hier habe ich meinen Heiratsantrag bekommen! Es war ein unglaublich intimer Moment, den ich nie vergessen werde. Das Café hat den perfekten Rahmen für solch einen besonderen Anlass geboten, und es ist ein weiterer Grund, warum wir immer wieder gerne dorthin gehen.
