We arrived around 8pm on a Friday evening and our first impressions were quite positive as the restauarant and bar area looked good. There seemed to be a bit of confusion around our booking and eventually we were shown a brick building further down a side street and told our room was there. We asked for a table in the restaurant and we were told they were no longer serving food and to go to Der Däne next door. The room was adequate but quite small and the toilet was tiny. Forget getting anyone else in there, it's very much single occupancy. The walls were paper thin and you could here everything from next door, Our room looked out onto a poorly felted roof with a fire escape beside the window. There was about 200 cigarette butts on the roof where smokers had obviously wandered onto the fire escape for a quick smoke. Breakfast was good though and plenty of room to park the car in the market square, which is free after 6pm on Friday through to Sunday. I travel Germany a lot through work and this was one of the poorer...

Read moreWe have often taken the ferry across the Elb, but always carried on driving and never visited the town. This time we did and it was a really eye opener. The town is glorious and this hotel the icing on the cake. The room was big and very comfortable. Bathroom very clean. Although it was on the main square it was totally quiet. |Breakfast was relaxed and plentiful. Hot food was hot and cold was cool. All of best quality. |Parking on the square was free - and ample.|We enjoyed a super meal at their restaurant too. Again well proportioned servings and to a very high standard.|the cost of this little venture was most surprising with romantic, breakfast and dinner (with drinks) coming in on par with a room and breakfast at mist comparable hotels. |As this is a trip we do at least once a year (UK to Sweden) we will no doubt return for an...
