We were on the way back to mainz from Austria and I was nervous to come here but the reviews were right! The Indian food was excellent.. We ordered the vegetable pakoras, garlic naan, butter naan, tandoori chicken tikka, chana masala and they even made a samosa for me instead of the samosa chaat! Everything was DELICIOUS! and the owners were very flexible and accommodating......

Stopped in for lunch after long flight from Texas, had the best half hähnchen mit pomme frites in a long time. Wife had the jägerschnitzel which was awesome, kids had curry chicken and tomato soup, all great!! Owner has previous experience in Italian food, menu covered a lot of fare, neat and clean dining room, bathrooms immaculate, great place to stop in bound or out bound...

Kennt ihr das Gefühl zum Abschluss eines Abends einfach noch mal kurz was Essen gehen zu wollen und dann unerwartet ein echtes Highlight zu erleben? So ging es uns heute im indischen Restaurant Wirtshaus Westend. Ich hatte ein unglaublich zartes Lamm Korma, mit einer sehr sanft abgestimmten Soße, die zeigt, dass sich die indische Küche nicht allein in scharfem Curry offenbart, sondern in fein komponierten Gewürzen und frischen Zutaten. Das Lokal war selbst unter der Woche gut besucht, trotzdem kam das Essen so zügig, dass wir gerade mit den Vorspeisen fertig waren, die übrigens auch mit sehr leckeren Soßen gereicht werden. Der Service war ausgesprochen angenehm und der Besitzer fand trotz Trubel sogar noch Zeit für einen kleinen Plausch mit uns zu einer kleinen Einführung in die kulinarischen Raffinessen seiner nordindischen Heimat.

So ging es uns heute im indischen Restaurant Wirtshaus Westend.
