Food and service is first class. Best Chinese in the area by far and owner XI XI ( pronounced Si Si ) is outstanding in her hospitality. Her husband is a master chef and absolutely everything is hand made- from the delicious dumplings and the massive Spring rolls, to the Chilli sauce on the table. A1.
My only issue is seating. A number of times American personnel have been next to me and have used foul language loudly and proudly. Another unfortunate conversation to be exposed to is the ' work talk'. The problem is the seating is so tight it's impossible not to hear it when the person talking actually thinks other people want to hear them. We don't. If you get a work call during food- stand up and take it outside.
This is not only a problem in GG but in most of the restaurants in the area without outdoor seating. These places are very small and were built for housing. NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOUR WORK CONVERSATIONS.
Again I love the food and the service here- and if you're lucky enough to either be here when it's not busy or you have considerate neighbour's, Gourmet Garden is perfect.

Read moreWow I was really impressed with this place. I went here on a whim as we missed out on the lunch hours on the Korean place across the street. I was sad but then decided to try Gourmet Garden…I am so glad I did! My daughter and I enjoyed our lunch so much. The lady waitressing there was so kind and warm to us. I ordered beef fried noodles…first of all there was an abundance of beef chunks. I was impressed with that. The beef was tasty too!!! Normally other restaurants I have had beef noodles, it is dried out or tough…but these were scrumptious juicy beef chunks! Such a good hearty portion too! Yes I ate it all and no shame…it was so good! My daughter absolutely loved her beef fried rice. We also had the crab rangoon…so warm and ooozing with decadent cheese! Absolutely delightful. The spring rolls were a great starter too. We are for sure coming back!! Thanks for a delicious...
Read moreReally not enough good to say about this place. We’ve been a few dozen times in our years here and we’ve loved it each time. The owner is the nicest lady ever and her son sometimes makes an appearance. They speak Chinese, German, and English so you’ll be able to order easily!
I’d recommend eating crispy stuff AT the restaurant because it tends to get soggy. Eating it IN the restaurant, though, is the way to go.
They’re only closed Wednesdays so it’s one of only three or four places in Germany that’s open on the weekend—wish everyone did this.
Definitely recommend for great, authentic Chinese food made by born and raised Chinese people. The restaurant and its owners are all around fantastic and...
