Eibsee Alm — Restaurant in Grainau

We went here to have lunch when visiting the Eibsee:

Pro’s:

-Probably the best option when it comes to price and quality of food and service directly at Eibsee -The waiter was empathetic and didn’t charge me additionally because he booked me the Apfelstrudel with Vanilla Icecream even I wanted it without due to the high price for the extra scube of Vanilla ice cream (2€!)

Con’s:

-My friends were from Stuttgart and had Kaesspätzle and Schnitzel. I am local and living in this region for the last 25 years. Even though my friends were satisfied with the food, I found it ridiculous for Bavarian and especially “Alm” Standards as the food only had been very average.

-Apfelstrudel only very small and average

-Very high price compared to amount and quality of food

My husband and I went at 13:00/1pm for lunch. We had the perfect outside table to look at the mountains and part of the lake. The gondola up to the Zugspitze was going back and forth but was not a bother at all, but kinda cool to watch! The food was delicious. We both ordered the schnitzel which was stuffed with bacon and a delicious mustard. Of course 2 helles on tap as well. The potatoes were perfect, not greasy at all but tender. We were so eager to eat it that I did not get a picture. For dessert we shared the Kaiserschmarrn which is a must if you visit! Die Eibsee Alm besticht durch ihre traumhafte Lage direkt am türkisfarbenen Eibsee, eingerahmt von majestätischen Bergen. Schon der Weg dorthin ist ein Erlebnis – Natur pur! Die Alm selbst ist charmant im traditionellen Stil gehalten, mit viel Holz, gemütlicher Einrichtung und liebevollen Details, die sofort ein Gefühl von Wohlfühlen und Ankommen vermitteln. Die große Sonnenterrasse bietet einen spektakulären Blick auf den See und die umliegende Berglandschaft – ein absolutes Highlight bei schönem Wetter.

Auch Vegetarier finden leckere Optionen, z. B. frische Salate oder vegetarische Knödelvariationen. Die Zutaten schmecken frisch und hochwertig, vieles stammt offenbar aus der Region. Die Portionen sind großzügig, aber nicht überladen – genau richtig nach einer Wanderung oder einem Badetag.

Das Personal in der Eibsee Alm ist ausgesprochen freundlich und authentisch. Trotz vieler Gäste lief der Service schnell, effizient und immer mit einem Lächeln. Die Bedienungen geben gerne Empfehlungen, sind geduldig bei Fragen zur Speisekarte und verbreiten eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Auch Sonderwünsche wurden prompt und unkompliziert erfüllt.
