Big Bull Steak House — Restaurant in Hamburg

I'm slightly torn for this review, on the other hand I would want to give more stars, but I must base my review on my experiences. I went with a friend and my husband, and we ordered all different dishes. I ordered fiery spicy ribs, and my friends had different steaks. As I often have to state, I am aware that I like my spicy hot, like it would be in most places in North America and Asia, and I am aware how different the German taste is regards to spiciness. My friends however are more like Germans in that they cannot handle spicy foods at all. Long story short, all three of us tasted my fiery hot ribs and felt that it was not only not hot at all, but the sweetness and the general taste of the sauce was so bad that we couldn't eat the ribs at all. The ribs themselves were also not good at all, the texture reminded me of certain microwave ribs that you get from supermarket more than juicy succulent fall of the bone meat ribs I would go to restaurant for are. The steaks my friends got were, however, tasty and done to their liking. The low rating also goes for the fact that the atmosphere of the restaurant isn't very pleasant, the lights are very bright, the air conditioning device is broken and has really loud background noise going on, the other customer was shouting at his speaker phone and with the staff, all in all not a good experience for me and maybe ok...

Worst place. Ever! Do yourself a favor and don’t go there. No personel speak a word of english. It took 30 minutes to get a menu, and it took 50 minutes just to get drinks. When we finally ordered our food, the waiter repeated to us, what we ordered to make sure. When the food came, we didn’t get anything of what we ordered, but the waiter said, the rest would come (we just ordered fries and sauce). But our food never came. The meat was dry, the steak was soaked in blood and fluids, and didn’t rest. The potato was soaked in creme fraiche and was cold. When another waiter came after ‘we finished eating’, she asked if it was good, and we all said NO! And she just went silent and took our plates out. Overpriced place with horrible food and the worst service, we’ve ever experienced! Would’ve given it 0 stars...

Der schlechteste Restaurantbesuch meines Lebens. Wir waren eine Gruppe von sechs Personen, insgesamt war alles an diesem Abend schlecht. Wir haben recht schnell bestellt und 20 bis 30 Minuten auf die Getränke gewartet.

Nach ca. 60 Minuten hatten wir noch immer kein Essen und wollten schon gehen, als es schließlich doch noch (falsch) kam.

Eine Person an unserem Tisch hat drei Mal das falsche Gericht bekommen (zuerst falsche Beilagen, dann falscher Gargrad, dann nochmal falscher Gargrad mit wieder falschen Beilagen). Das richtige Gericht kam schließlich, als alle anderen bereits gegessen hatten.

Die Frau des Eigentümers reagierte auf wiederholtes Zurückgeben des Gerichtes unfreundlich und vorwurfsvoll. Der Eigentümer selbst war bei abschließender Beschwerde uneinsichtig, besserwisserisch und gab seinen Mitarbeitenden die Schuld. Es wolle niemand mehr arbeiten, alle faul und alle würden lieber Arbeitslosengeld kassieren und er hätte keine Schuld. Er würde immer alles richtig machen und wenn er alleine alles machen würde, würde es auch funktionieren. Dann sollte er das wohl auch machen. Er führte noch lange aus, wie gut und heilig er sei und dass er ja während der Pandemie für Obdachlose gekocht hätte etc. pp. Schön, ehrenhaft, in diesem Fall leider absolut unerheblich.

Es gab zwei Runden Getränke als Entschuldigung. Diese machte er im Laufe des Abends durch wiederholtes absolut unangebrachtes und unverschämtes Verhalten wieder zunichte. Schließlich führte er unsere Gruppe vor einem Stammtisch vor und erklärte, dass man Essen eben zu genießen wissen müsse und wenn wir das nicht täten seien wir selbst Schuld.

Schade! Es lief einfach gar nichts an diesem Abend. Das Produkt geriet vollends in den Hintergrund, obwohl es tatsächlich sehr gut hätte sein können. So lässt sich aber das beste Stück Fleisch nicht genießen.

Wichtig: Die Mitarbeitenden können absolut nichts dafür. Die Servicekraft an unserem Tisch hatte ihren ersten Tag. Das lässt sich absolut entschuldigen. Er brauchte länger war aber freundlich und zuvorkommend und hat sich mehrfach entschuldigt. Der Fisch stinkt eben doch vom Kopf.

Nachtrag: Dafür, dass es sich Steakhaus nennt, hat das Restaurant eine sehr eingeschränkte...
