Café Himmelsschreiber — Restaurant in Hamburg

Learned about this place from an on line aircraft spotting site. I was staying in the Ibis airport Hotel, I was able to walk to the cafe from the hotel, time taken 15 minutes approximately. On arriving here I found a seating and standing area with lots of tables and seating, the terrace has a large fence of a grill type, it does not (for me) spoil the view of the apron or runways. I purchased a drink on both days I visited the prices were reasonable, I did not eat here so I cannot comment on the food or menu. The staff were very friendly and also helpful. As I walked here, I could not comment on the car park situation, I think the car park is shared with the GAT. My conclusion would be, if you want a drink and watch the aircraft in a friendly setting,...

Die "Location" selbst ist nicht verkehrt, ist sie doch direkt am südlichen Rollfeld des Hamburger Flughafen gelegen. Näher dran kann man nicht. Pluspunkt.

Das jedoch lässt man sich auch fürstlich bezahlen. Das Frühstück ist zwar optisch gut aufgemacht und nett dekoriert, jedoch empfinde ich

"Ein Brötchen, ein selbst aufgebackenes Croissant, je ein Minigläschen Nutella 25g, Honig und eine Miniportion Marmelade, 2x Miniportion Butter, eine Physalis, zwei kleine Schnitte einer Wassermelone, vier Weinträubchen, drei dünne Goudadreiecke, vier Scheibchen Standardsalami und zwei hauchdünne Scheiben Putenbrust. "

sind aus meiner Sicht keine 9,90€ wert. Auch empfinde ich den Namen" großes Frühstück" nicht so recht gerechtfertigt.

Zumal das sog. "kleine Frühstück" das selbe war, nur ohne Frischkäse (der wurde übrigens komplett vergessen, siehe Bild) und ohne die Wurst und den Käse.

Dafür wurden dann 6,90€ aufgerufen...

Auf dem Bild: im Vordergrund das sog. Große Frühstück, dahinter das "kleine Frühstück".

Der Service war bemüht, schnell und aufmerksam sehen jedoch anders aus. Lange Wartezeit bei der Bestellungsausgabe fiel neben uns auch anderen Gästen negativ auf. Da wurde schon mal die eine oder andere Bestellung nicht bzw erst auf zweite Nachfrage ausgeliefert. Schade.

Fazit: einen Besuch im Café Himmelsschreiber kann man sich gern mal geben, vielleicht auch auf einen Kaffee - wegen der Location selbst -, aber mehr auch nicht.

Dann lieber das Coffee2fly aufsuchen. Das ist zwar auch nicht 'günstig', aber dann doch eine...

It was quite full and the waiters seemed to be very busy, so we went directly to the bar to order&pay. However they were sending us out by stating they will find us outside. We waited 20 minutes, switched places, no way to get their attention. Went inside a second time to remind them and be able to make my order. Still three stars because they were very friendly afterwards. Please just let people order at the bar, makes it less stressful for the waiters and more pleasant...
