L'unico — Restaurant in Hamburg

Overall good quality of the meals provided. The reason why I’m giving 4 stars is because the carbonara sometimes has the egg scrambled like you can see that it hasn’t turned into a cream. Also occasionally some of the pizzas feel like the toppings do not suffice for the size of it. When getting a pizza mafia (16€) where the first ingredient listed is chicken breast and I’m getting only 5 chunks on a 32cm dough is a bit of disappointing so to say. Considering the price point of course. Yet that’s not always the case. Most of the times it’s quite alright. (7/10) The variety of the pizzas is quite decent and the quality of the ingredients is good.

However slightly overpriced for an average person who ain’t earning lots of money. We deserve some nice food as well fellas. 🫠

Regardless, keep it up. Practice...

I went to this place last night, Friday July 21st. My bill came to around 75 Euros. They don’t take Visa for some reason, so I had to pay with cash. I gave the waitress 100 Euro and I waited for the change. She never returned. Finally, I asked for the change and she said something about a “tradition”. I’m like what? Since when do you not get any change in Germany? I said “whatever” and just keep it.

I guess they have a “tradition” at L’ Unico of ripping customer’s off.

I never got a receipt either....

Wir sind über Jahre gerne in dieses Restaurant gegangen, da es auf hohen Niveau italienische Küche angeboten hat. Wir hatten uns daher auf den erneuten Besuch sehr gefreut und wurden doch sehr enttäuscht - anscheinend hat der Inhaber gewechselt und damit auch der Service - aber der Reihe nach:

(a) Wir hatten online reserviert, als wir dann im Restaurant waren, gab es kein Tisch mit einer entsprechenden Reservierung - die Bedienung musste erst einmal überlegen. an welchen Tisch wir uns setzen können (Frage: Haben wir überhaupt etwas frei?) (b) Die ganze Zeit war die Tür offen, damit die Gerüche der Küche abziehen konnten - dafür gibt es i.d.R. funktionierende Abzugshauben - Tische in diesem Bereich stehen dann unter Windzug, was Ende Oktober dann suboptimal ist. (c) Vorspeise und Hauptgericht kamen gleichzeitig (!) - auf Beschwerde reagierte man nicht mit einer Entschuldigung, sondern schob den Gast die Schuld zu (Kellner: Ich hatte gedacht, sie wollen beide Gerichte (Suppe und Steak) gleichzeitig haben !??!!). (d) Hauptgerichte wirkten dann ausgewärmt, da diese ja erst nach der Suppe dann serviert werden konnten. (e) Wir bestellten Cappuccino mit Zuckerersatzstoff und war reichte der Kellner weiter: Cappuccino mit Zucker.

Und das ganze dann doch für eine Bewirtung von 62,00 Euro für zwei Personen (ohne Wein, nur ein kleines Bier und eine Cola). Wir warten jetzt darauf, dass die Bewirtung erneut wechselt, bevor wird dann wieder einen neuen...
