Trattoria Salento — Restaurant in Hamburg

Great food, bad service. The self made spaghetti Bolognese which my girlfriend had was superb, and the Salmon was juicy with a very tasty sauce.

Unfortunately the service (from the man) started poorly and never improved. We waited outside as instructed on their door (Corona), and it was raining... Anyhow we were patient and at some point the guy waved at us from afar inside at the bar, pointing to a table. Never even bothering to come to us, nor to say hello or any greeting. Just rude.

After we sat down, he came over and put a huge menu on the chair next to us without saying a word, and was walking away. I managed to get his attention and asked what he could suggest or something very special, his answer was dry and sarcastic "huh, everything here!" And he just walked away.

A lady came back to take our order and she was very friendly. Words apart!

Later the guy came back to set our table and did not make any effort to place my knife and fork orderly, literally just putting them Infront of me which I then reorganised and straightened.

Ich war dort an einem Donnerstag Abend zu Gast, zusammen mit meiner Freundin. Nachdem wir das Restaurant betraten, warteten vor uns drei jüngere Damen, die nach einem Tisch fragten. Ich glaube, ich habe noch nie gesehen, wie jemand so unfreundlich in einem Restaurant abgewiesen wurde. Etwas verdutzt warteten wir, ob wir denn mal angesprochen werden würden. Fehlanzeige. Als wir dann versuchten Kontakt zu den Mitarbeitern herzustellen, waren alle so beschäftigt, dass wir laufend vertröstet wurden. Der für acht Uhr reservierte Tisch war natürlich noch nicht frei. Während wir warteten, konnte ich dem Barkeeper zusehen, der an der prominent in der Mitte des Lokals angeordneten Bar versuchte Bier zu zapfen. Ein derartiges Gepansche habe ich auch noch nicht erlebt, das sollte man im Gastronomiegewerbe nicht zu Gesicht bekommen. Bier vernünftig zu zapfen ist innerhalb kurzer Zeit zu lernen und sollte hier eventuell mal angedacht werden. Als wir dann irgendwann endlich saßen, aßen wir auf die Empfehlung einer Freundin hin Pasta aus dem Parmesanlaib mit Trüffel für 22€ pro Portion. Die Pasta war gut, allerdings mit 17 oder 18 Euro für die Portion überteuert, denn es war überhaupt nichts besonderes an dem Gericht, außer man hat noch nie frische Pasta mit Parmesan gegessen. Den Aufpreis für den Trüffel finde ich okay, allerdings wurde bei uns der klägliche Rest von 3 Trüffeln noch irgendwie drüber gerieben, richtig wertig sah das am Ende auch nicht aus. Die Größe der Portion war okay, könnte für meinen Geschmack, und vor allem für den Preis, aber ein gutes Stück größer sein. Geschmacklich war es so wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte, die Pasta hätte leicht salzigeres Wasser vertragen. Zudem hätte ich sicherlich ein zweites Getränk genommen, wenn denn mal jemand zu unserem Tisch gekommen wäre. Insgesamt würde ich dort wohl nochmal essen, allerdings ausschließlich mit Reservierung, und auch ein anderes Gericht. Die Speisekarte sah gut aus, und auch nicht jedes Gericht schien mir zu teuer zu sein. Die Betreiber sollten eventuell darüber nachdenken weiteres Personal einzustellen, damit nicht alles drunter und...

First-off to make this review understable, I do live in Rome so I had my fair share of Italian food. Went there with my girlfriend on recommendation. The card looked intriguing. I had pasta with boar ragu. She went for a pizza. The pasta was a bit too cooked and the sauce was rather flat which was a bit sad given the boar was good. The pizza is rather standard, nothing to get excited about. The sugo was rather flat too.
