Hotel NH Hamburg Mitte — Hotel in Hamburg

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we booked, the hotel were very responsive to any question we asked them.|When we arrived, we asked for a room in a quiet part of the hotel on a high floor. We were given the perfect room! Room 605. We were at the back of the hotel with a pleasant view towards the city.|We had booked a superior room and it was excellent. The room was a great size and the bed was huge and very comfortable. There was a comfortable sofa and a good desk. The bathroom was large and the shower was very good. |We didn't book breakfast but there was a well stocked Penny store a few metres away across the road.|The hotel is well located - out of the city centre but very close to two subway stations which take you into the city centre on two choices of line depending on where you want to go.|The reception staff were excellent and so helpful. There was a welcome drink of water and a bowl of fruit in the reception waiting area which was good in the warm weather.|Al in all, we had a great time in the NH Mitte with nothing negative to say. This hotel is close to Schlump station which is great for traveling to all locations around the city. The front desk staff are very friendly, and offered to store my luggage once arriving early. They even helped call a taxi back to the airport in the very early morning hours for my departure. The breakfast options here are varied, with something appealing for everyone. There is plenty of seating in the dining room.

The hotel rooms are very modern, with bathrooms that look to have been recently remodeled. I appreciated the solid surface wood and tile floors instead of carpet. The bed was very firm; too much for my liking, and it was difficult to get comfortable sometimes. However, the pillows and duvet were of good quality. The hotel had a power outtage during my stay. They knew this upfront (and could not prevent it)...BUT they only informed us during our late check-in. We got a flashlight to get through the night...really...a flashlight! On top of this, the power repair took place right below my window, which caused a tremendous noise during the whole night. No sleep at all! Instead of sincere apologies, an alternative hotel or fair compensation we were told that they could not help it and did not hear of any complaints...of course not, phones were dead as well and their chatbot did not reply. And who wants to go down to reception in a pitch black dark hotel? They should have closed the hotel for that night and offered to host guests in the other NH hotel. The tone of voice of front desk staff on the matter was really unacceptable and not showing any hospotality. Never NH hotel again for me and...
