I chose this place as the reviews on Google were mixed from very positive to bottom of the barrel. For me it deserves 5 stars as a bakery and lunch spot. Friendly, prompt service, food and coffee great and working there just fine.

I visit places as part of my #WorkFromAnywhere project. I almost always arrive by bike with a laptop. I want to see if I can get work done and feel my bike is safe. My reviews are more for those working from home who want a break or bike tourists. This is not a food review.

Another #WorkFromAnywhere excursion and this time off across the fields and then the vineyards to Hochheim am Main.

This is a modern bakery and is one of 9 in the area. They have all the breads and sweets you would expect plus they specialize with their Flammkuchen and Rösti. I will return to try that.

The cafe is in the middle of town with big windows and a nice layout. There is an upper floor and even a rooftop patio where you can sit. Lots of tables inside and out so finding a place to sit and work was easy. Staff was friendly and prompt. Coffee and Rösti great. Wi-Fi can be seen but is locked and no obvious code was visible. Working here was easy and could have spent an hour or more without any feeling I would need to leave.

Top was the bike situation. I sat inside and my bike was out the window in sight the entire time. There is also a bike rack across the street with 3 more spots so this was a huge plus for those cyclists who might be riding along the river Main. Stop at this place and you can rest assured that your bikes will be fine. (my bike can be seen in the photo) :-)

Schießer die Bäckerei (the owner of this location) is family-run in its 3rd generation. They take pride in their work, both in quality and presentation. The 90 minutes I spent there in the cafe in Hochheim was very pleasant...

I live in Hochheim, so I've visited this bakery several times, and the service is always great and the food excellent. But this time, the service was exceptional. On this visit, I stopped in for a quick bite while running an errand. They had these little salads in plastic containers probably intended for takeout. When I asked to buy one and it was to eat in the restaurant, rather than simply giving me the container, the lady placed it in a bowl, poured dressing on it , dribbled it with balsamic, and then even sliced some bell peppers and cucumbers to create a cute little garnish in the corner of the square bowl. She spent an extra few seconds picking out the freshest bread rolls to go with it, and then she even took the coffee I ordered back to wipe it down and replace the saucer because it had dribbled down the side. It was all just the little touches that show they really care about providing exceptional...

Wir waren (meine Freundin und unsere Kids) heute an Muttertag zum Frühstück dort. Die Dame hinter dem Tresen mega unfreundlich. Auf Nachfrage, ob es noch Wurst/Käse an der Buffettheke gibt, bekamen wir die Antwort, das sie erst das Frühstück für andere zubereiten müsse. Unser Kaffee stand derzeit schon fertig auf dem Tablet. Sie legte nur 6 Scheiben Putenwurst (kein Käse..) auf die Platte. Als ich dann erfuhr, das das Frühstück pro Person ca 15,00 € kosten sollte, haben wir uns umentschieden, das wir nur ein kleines Frühstück bestellen wollen, da die Kids keinen großen Hunger hatten. Die Dame riss uns das Tablet aus der Hand und vernichtete unsere 2 Brötchen und 2 Scheiben Wurst. Ich sagte, sie könne das ruhig drauflassen, ich bezahl das schon, sie ignorierte das. Meiner Freundin wurde darauf ein Brötchen belegt. Sie zahlte und ich wollte nun meine Bestellung aufgeben. Doch sie meinte nur, der Herr hinter mir wäre dran. Ich sagte ihr, das wir zusammen gehören und ich ja auch die ganze Zeit dabei stand, doch die Dame ignorierte mich wieder und bediente den Mann. Selbst meine Freundin und meine Tochter bestätigten das, doch es wurde absichtlich überhört. Ich war das Erste und Letztes Mal dort....
