What a lovely restaurant. We went to Konigswinter as it is next to the Rhein. The town itself is not that special. However we were hungry and we were in for some scones. The inside of the restaurant looked indeed very cosy.
I had a nice flowery tea and scones. The scones are baked fresh and served with clotted cream and jam. My husband had eggs benedict which also include avocado. And as a desert warm apple crymble. We were very pleased with our dishes. My daughter had a toasty. She was less pleased as there was tomato and I think also onion in the ham and cheese toasty. This was not mentioned on the menu.

We especially came to Königswinter to enjoy a nice breakfast with the family, and didn't expect the cold and rude welcoming we got when we tried to get a table without a reservation. It doesnt matter if the restaurant is crowded, the customer can always decide to wait or go to look for another place. Very sad since several friends...
Read moreThe food was fine, so the stars is solely for that. However, the guy behind the counter completely ruined the whole atmosphere making it as far from a “cosy corner” as it can be. He was micromanaging the whole place and being extremely rude. The waiters couldn't do anything right in his eyes and he made sure the whole cafe new about it. He couldn't even hide is attitude when dealing with the customers. I would suggest he looks for a new job, the service industry does not...
