Update to my initial review: In response to the owner stating he was surprised at my comment. I was there yesterday February 16th 2023. Please ask the hostess and the tall guy with a beard. She looked embarrassed that there was no way to offer water to customers. But thank you for responding in this matter. It shows me that you've opted to respond before doing any research into what transpired and clearly are trying to save face as opposed to owning up to it.👏 Mistakes happen, and this could've very well been one....but to say you always store water, inferring that my experience could not have happened adds to what I already think about your business. Kudos! 🤏
Review: Visited this restaurant for the first time today. I must say, the place in itself is nice and clean, and quite big. The open layout was well thought out. The hostess was very nice and the gentleman who prepared our food was very kind and professional. The oil/balsamic/chili oil/salt and pepper already layed out at every table was perfect.
This is as far as my positive comments will go. The concept of the restaurant has potential, but the execution is not there. We were provided a card at the entrance, than you are on your own to figure out what to do with it... or what to do in general for that matter. Luckily, the person I was with had been there once before. We provided ourselves with the pamphlet menu, after reviewing it, we ordered. We were waiting in front of that kitchen until the food was ready. We were not provided with a buzzer or anything like that so we had to wait there. Theeeennn, you must go from the food station, to the other side of the restaurant to order your drinks. If that's their layout, fine!! - but that's just not a smart concept. Waitresses should take the drinks order, in my opinion...(if there were waitresses that is).
I can forgive that the food was just okay, nothing overly tasty, nor special...but then again, it could've been the particular appetizer AND lunch I'd ordered. But what really made this experience solidify me never wanting to go back again is that I wanted to order water..or Sparkling water. I was willing to pay for a bottle...but I was told there's no water, nor sparkling water....but there will be some tomorrow. 🤨 Who in the what???
However, I could purchase a sugar drink or alcoholic drink....but which restaurant IN THE WORLD does not have W.A.T.E.R.????
Some people can not drink sugary drinks, nor alcohol! Honestly, I was embarrassed for them! And I was stuck since my food was already mid-preparation. Any other restaurant would've had the inventory, and if there was a vendor issue, they would've gone to the nearest Aldi/Lidl and bought the cheapest box of 24 bottles to ensure customer's were hydrated with the most basic beverage there is. The lack of care and the disregard made it that I would never step foot in that...
Read moreUnbelievable - basically no ventilation in all of the restaurant! You can expect to smell like you have been frying onions and garlic yourself in the kitchen. I originally wanted to order pasta but after recognizing the very bad smell in front of the pasta cooking area I went with only quickly ordering a pizza. Still when sitting on the furthest table away from the cooking area after about 30 minutes you smell like you have been deep frying yourself in the kitchen. Just disgusting! Would not recommend to visit until they fix ventilation. We even had trouble breathing after a couple of minutes sitting there. The smoke from the cooking area was all over the seating area. Also it was uncomfortably hot inside - place seems to have no A/C that can cool and ventilate the place.
Additionally the pasta that my girlfriend had wasn’t cooked thoroughly enough for our taste. Pizza was okay but took forever to be ready. Old Vapiano problem once again - you cannot sit together at a table and wait for your food together and then once you get the food the other person has already finished eating before you...
Read moreHeard about this place and was really craving some carpaccio. Walked in and greeted the "lady" with pink hair by the entrance. She shoved me 2 cards in my hands without saying a word. We walked further and sat down to see the menu.
Since it was our first time I thought it'd be better to ask that same woman how it works exactly. She was resting her head on the dining table while huffing and puffing when I asked her something. She really didn't feel like helping me out, so she asked one of the cooks to explain it to me. At this point I already am irritated, because she still didn't say a word to me.
The cook tried to explain me how it works, but wasn't in a good mood either.
Food was alright, but not special. They were pretty stingy with the meat and fish in the salads.
When we were paying for our food, the older guy behind the counter wasn't really friendly either. People here don't seem to know the simple word "Hello".
Definitely won't be returning...
