Hendl Cube Karlsruhe — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

As I spontaneously wanted to eat chicken I dropped by in the evening. It's located directly on a main road and parking can be tricky due to limited space which is usually occupied by the local residents.

The location is split into 2 areas:

1. Restaurant where you can have chicken and some other food.
2. Sale of chicken and lots more.

My personal favorite is the red pepper chicken which is quite delicious. The last time my french fries were not really tasty hence I skipped all today and just got chickens from the sale. Chicken was delicious :)

Update ( 2020-01-18 ):

Have been visiting this location again ( after about 3 months ) on a Saturday early afternoon and was looking forward for the delicious "sweet chili-hendl". Staff was friendly but service was quite chaotic and not organized in any way hence it took 30+ minutes for a basic order ( sweet chili-hendl without anything else as side dish ); order was taken wrong and the person at the table next to me, which ordered the same but as menu ( and 5+ minutes later ), was served 10 minutes before me ... my order was taken wrong also so I refused taking the french fries which I have not been ordering; the "hendl" was just as delicious as expected so I ordered another one ( again without french fries ) ... this time it just took about 5 minutes and was as delicious as before. As I was still a bit hungry I thought I'd give it another try ... unfortunately this time it took ( again ) 20+ minutes and the quality of the chicken was really bad ... totally not worth the waiting time therefore I've only tried some parts of it and left the rest untouched on the plate.

Like the other tables at this time of my visit it took ages before I was able to pay even though I requested to pay directly when ordering the 3rd chicken. Taking everything into account ( staying 1,75 hours there for eating 3 times 1/2 chicken due to chaotic service, very bad quality of the 3rd chicken ) I decided not to tip the waiter ( and told her why ) which obviously made her upset.

Actually this rating has been 4 stars before this visit - now I can only rate it with 2...

Hatten 2x „Hühnerfrikassee“ was eigentlich gebraten Grillhendlfleisch mit hausgemachten Spätzle und pilzrahmsoße sein sollte und das Hühnchen war vom Vortag! Es war einfach nur Hühnchen in der Soße und paar Spätzle und am Rand um Platz zu sparen 1 salatblatt mit einer ausgetrockneten Tomate. Wir wurden satt aber nach uns kam ein Kunde zum Essen welcher keine 3 Minute da saß und als ich das Tablett abgestellt hatte, hab ich das übrig gebliebene Hühnchen gesehen da er nur 1 Bissen genommen hatte und wieder gegangen ist. Waren die Hühner alle vom Vortag? Das letzte Mal hatte ich vor 3 Jahren dort gegessen als es noch Wiener Wald hieß und wir waren begeistert vom knoblauchhähnchen, Grillhähnchen, chicken popcorn und einige Burger. Aber definitiv gehen wir dort nie wieder essen. Wirklich schade drum da auch die Bedienung ziemlich genervt war und es dort nicht schön ist zu essen. Damals schon aber jetzt definitiv nicht mehr. Zu unserem Essen haben wirklich nur noch Reis, Erbsen und Möhren zum Frikassee...

First time at this location- they have the restaurant split into two sections- one with table service and the other is a fast food style. The cashier spoke extremely limited English but still managed to get my order, pay, and eat. The food is okay. I got the cordon bleu menu which came with a salad and fries. It was good...
