Honestly, one of the best restaurants in Mainz!
This place was a complete surprise to me, located in the middle of a residential area, this inconspicuous restaurant serves the best Korean chicken balls I have had outside of Korea! The bestseller for me is the chicken balls in red sauce, potato wedge and white dip - absolutely delicious combination, and even though advertised as sweet spicy, it's mild. The meat is tender, juicy and the flavours are just amazing!
Currently, this place only does takeout (NO delivery), however ordering is very simple - I always pick what I want online, place an order and receive an email that my order is being prepared. That usually means I can start walking to the restaurant and be there exactly at the time when my food is ready (20 minutes). You can order on the spot of course, but you might wait a bit as it's quite popular - I have heard stories of people from Wiesbaden and Frankfurt regularly coming here. It is that good!
The staff speaks English, is very friendly, kind and welcoming. The restaurant accepts any kind of card payments, not just EC cards, which is really handy! Beverages such as sodas and beer can be picked up here as well. Last visited in August 2022.
Great job guys, you are lifting up the food...
Read moreMy sister told me about Kokio when I arrived in Wiesbaden to visit her; she told me it was one of the best places to eat chicken. After eating there, I can truly say that Kokio is one the best places to have chicken. The way the chicken is cooked is simply sublime: the skin crispy and delicate, the choices of sauce are savory, the chicken meat is cooked nice and evenly, the list goes on and on. The people working there are super nice and pleasant to talk to too. I am from Texas, and there a few chicken places near me where I live (Chick-fil-a, Cane's, etc), and I can't imagine me ever going back to those eating establishments again after having Kokio. My only complaint is that I wish there was one near me in the United States. Anyone who hasn't tried chicken from Kokio is...
Read moreThis Korean „Fast Food“ Chicken is the best I have ever had here in Germany. It is suuuuper delicious. Saying that with a one year stay experience in Korea. The negative experience is the waiting time. If you order online you have to wait between 30-60 min depending on the amount of chicken they have to prepare for the guests. Yes, they do it fresh and in the back of their own kitchen. This leads me to give 5 of 5 stars. Because I rather wait for good fresh food than to have it quick and not freshly prepared.
I prefer the Red Balls. Little spicy. But best for me!
Pricing is little high. Must not be higher!
Now after Corona they have little space to sit inside. However, this is in my eyes not a nice place to have some food. It is little similar to a...
