DAS LOKAL — Restaurant in Mittenwald

We started our morning with their coffee and a pretzel as we waited for our train to Innsbruck, and it was absolutely delicious. In fact we ordered twice because we couldn't get enough.

The part my wife and I will never forget though is our journey back to Das Lokal from Innsbruck. As our train pulled up to the Mittenwald station we saw them closing up for the night. It was raining and we realized we had just missed the last bus to Kaltenbrunn for the night. There were no cabs outside either. We were stuck. Luckily we just happened to run into the owner of Das Lokal, and in a panic, asked if he could call us a cab. Not only did he call us a cab but he invited us inside from the rain and let us sample wine while having a great conversation. He went above and beyond.

His kindness is something my wife and I will never forget.

No trip to Mittenwald is complete without a stop into Das Lokal. Whether you need a latte or a bottle of wine Das Lokal can't be beat!

Charming Café with Cozy Vibes

Stopped by this café after a walk around Mittenwald. The interior design is unique and inviting, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. We went for the hot chocolate since there were only a few baked goods left by the time we arrived, and none really caught our eye.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the pleasant experience. It's definitely a nice spot to unwind and have a relaxed conversation. That said, we did find the prices a bit on the higher side.
