AnticaTrattoria Nuova — Restaurant in Munich

Can not recommend this Italian restaurant. As a guest you donot feel welcomed and the waiters and waitress are truly unfriendly and not at all customer-oriented. It is as if you were disturbing their leisure time.

If you are not a long time customer, you have to wait long and while waiting for a table for more than 20 minutes, hope for a waiter to come by and bring you something to drink. So the challenge is to always have eye contact with the waiter in order to get something. This counts for drinks as well as for food, bread, parmesan etc.

The food is served in just every day normal plates, nothing special. The food special for the day can be recommended but it doesn't haul you over. Unfortunately, the a la carté is not at all to be recommended since the cooking here is an offense to your tast-buds. I have never eaten something so blant and uninspiring Italian food.

The wine can be recommended but don't expect any typical wine service in this matter. It is just order, serve and drink.

Two stars goes for the location and some good wine and that is about it. The place is more for people - "to see and to be seen", nothing more and nothing...

Our friend suggested that we all go here so off we went on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We arrived at about 3 without a reservation but a table was found for us and we were told it would take about 1 hour before our food could be prepared and served because it was very busy with large groups and families. This was fine because it had been years since we had seen each other and we had a lot of catching up to do and the ambiance was very relaxing under the trees. We were served our drinks quite quickly and the waiters were fun and efficient. They were speaking Sicilian with each other which was interesting. The food arrived in the predicted time and my lasagna and the lamb haxe were both very tasty but the cannelloni was not as flavourful.
