The putenschnitzel was ordered. I was extremely happy with this dish, the turkey was succulent and moist, and the breadcrumb coating of it was crispy enough to add texture but still preserve a softness amd not add any crunchiness. It was a generous sized schnitzel, measuring around 17x14cm.
A steak was also ordered - this was also a good dish, on par with the putenschnitzel in my opinion. The steak was ordered medium rare, but it came slightly on the more medium side amd was a bit chewy. The actual meat itself was succulent and full of flavour. The steak came with garlic butter, which enhanced the dish greatly and was extremely tasty. The steak was also a healthy and generous portion size.
Both of the above dishes were served with potato wedges, which were flavoursome and well cooked - they were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The sour cream side which came with this in a small glass bowl (also came with the putenschnitzel) was also delicious, and went well with the putenschnitzel and potato wedges.
A side salad on a separate plate also came with schnitzel and steak dishes - it contained an assortment of vegetables (peppers, carrots, sweetcorn, tomato, lettuce) and was mixed in a salad dressing. the salad was crisp and fresh, however may have had a bit too much salad dressing on.
The classic burger was also ordered. This was unfortunately the least favourite dish out of the three. the bun was a bit deflated, and the beef patty, although nice, was a bit thin and, some may say, not juicy enough. it was not overcooked, though. the other burger fillings complemented the beef perfectly. This dish came with salad amd french fries - a cut below the potato wedges, amd quicker to go cold.
In conclusion, this is a lovely restaurant which serves reasonably priced food. Not all of its dishes are up to the same standard, but if you have a large appetite and love barvarian food you won't be...
Read moreWe visited here Friday 16th October 2020 before a visit to Schneider Weisse which is less than 100 metres away on the same road. It's a little out of the centre, in fact about 4-5kms and an hour by foot, however according to Google Maps tram 31 from Marienplatz (Theaterstrasse) will get you here in 24minutes and is the quickest route however we took the U4/5 as we intended going to bars before and afterwards that were nearer that route into town.
It's a good sized building that stands on the corner of it's namesake street and Josephsburgstrasse. We were only drinking so sat at the bar. Inside it had quite a cosy feel, the layout was quite traditional, with plenty of seating available. It was quite early when we arrived but a few tables were taken with people dining and it started filling up further and there was an awful lot of people coming here for takeaway food, it was doing quite a trade. We didn't have here as we already had a table reservation at Schneider Weisse but it's clear that the place was very popular for its food.
The beer selection was from Ayinger and pretty well represented, we had a Altbayrisch Dunkel (bottle) which was really nice, and a Hefe-Weisse from tap. Staff were friendly and also quite busy. This is a nice place that you can combine a visit with the aforementioned and close by Schneider Weisse as well as Echardinger Einkehr (Augustiner Bräu) which is...

I tried two different dishes and they were very good. Everything tastes fresh and the quantity is a good value for your money. Especially given the proximity to city center. I sampled a dessert and it was cooked to order. I found it to be a delicious end to the meal.
They offer beer, wine and spirits along with the alcohol free options you would expect.
If you're going after dark by car, you may miss it if not paying attention. It's a cozy location tucked in the corner of the building, but the decor and spirit of the place is warm and welcoming.
I would happily visit again and consider it a...
