Champions Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Munich

One of the worst places with worse service and staff. We went to this place because we were staying in Marriot and wanted to have an early dinner. We placed our order at 8pm. Post half an hour on asking the waitress, we were told they have two restaurants to serve so it’s taking a little time. The order should be in any moment. At 8:45 we again asked and were told that the food is being plated as we speak. At 9pm we ask again and we are told they can’t do anything. It’s just taking time. In the mean while they serve 2 tables that came after us which I even pointed out to them.

Not an ounce of shame or apology or at least an attempt to fix things. On the contrary the manager Louis Phillip asked whether we would still want our order or should they cancel it. This is the pathetic level of service they offer. Of the entire issue I pointed to him, the only thing he responded to was that how it wasn’t ok for me to point out that they are a sports bar and it shouldn’t take so much time to serve an order.

Not to miss that we had two children with us which we told them again and again that if they could bring at least their order. Which was a flat bread.

Absolutely disgusted with the service and staff. What’s worse is there was no attempt for trying to at least make the experience better.

Classic bacon cheese burger was over cooked and had one tiny piece of bacon. Wedges were ok, but would have expected wedges / fries included with the burger rather than having to pay another $3 for them. Got plenty salad though and the burger sauce was good.

Main comment though - anywhere selling “finest American cuisine with burgers” must ask how I want my burger cooked, rather than just bring me something overdone.

And unless I’m missing something, the “big HD video wall” is just a slightly bigger television than the others, not exactly a wall.

Addition - I just spoke to the manager before posting my review (he was actually the one who took my order in the first place). Told me he assumed I wanted my burger medium-well since most people do (despite this it was still over-well). He was actually decent and admitted his mistake in not asking me how I wanted my burger. Anyway, in fairness to him he gave me a free beer. And apparently the HD video wall is no more, but website hasn’t been updated.

We were staying at the hotel and Went in to dine with my small kids and senior citizen parents. From the time we ordered the food till the time we left - it was nearly 1 hour and 20 minutes and the food did not come. Not even a plate of fries. The service was bad to say the least and the manager - Louis Phillipp is absolutely incompetent and seemingly rather racist. A table that came and ordered after us got their flatbread much before us. Meanwhile my kids sat hungry for almost an hour and a half. All we were told was - one kitchen is serving 2 restaurants. Well, that’s really not my problem or you should have told me the wait time before I sat and ordered. The staff was completely unapologetic and at one point they told us - food is being plated and will be served in 2mins. 20 minutes later there was still no food at our table.
