Novotel Suites Muenchen Parkstadt Schwabing — Hotel in Munich

I recently stayed at a lot of hotels, but this one compelled me to leave a comment. 😉

The rooms are spacious and lovely. During my 8-day stay, I had the opportunity to interact with all the staff members, and they are truly amazing people!

Reflecting on my experience, I couldn’t help but think about what I would change or improve if this were my hotel or investment. Here are some friendly recommendations:

• Keeping one of the breakfast coffee machines on all the time would allow guests to enjoy a warm drink whenever they like. I believe this simple gesture wouldn’t incur much cost but would enhance the hotel’s reputation 😉. • I’ve heard from other guests, and even colleagues, that the shower heads feel a bit like small needles 🪡. While it might not have been previously recommended, improving them could enhance guests’ experience. • On a positive note, I’ve also heard that the hotel is consistently being improved and renovated 👏🏻.

I travel frequently in the Asia Pacific region and this was, by far the poorest example of a novotel I have stayed in. We arrived to a cold welcome. Our room was not ready as.we arrived early from an international flight...as expected. Reception staff member was rude and we were treated as an inconvenience. Further upon checking in

Room was poorly maintained. The toilet ran alright even after calling maintenance the day of arrival. The next day I raised this again only to be told the engineer was not in today. Seriously....this is the offered solution. Well I managed to fix it myself. The sliding curtains were old and ripped.

Rooms were pet friendly which meant the room stunk of dog with several stains on the carpet. I could accept this if I had a choice and advised in advance if I wanted to select another room.

Shower and toilets are small and modular plastic. Toilet was separate but the size of an aircraft toilet.

Location isn’t great. Rooms and toilets were small. The door was very hard to access by the keycard. The mattresses were too hard. There were no good TV channels and the WiFi was intermittent. Room servicing was not done as well as we expected from Novotel, the bedsheets were not squarely folded and had a lot of creases. The layout of the room was at best acceptable. The only toilet was by the main door in a cupboard. The worst thing was the kettle. It had layers of grubby deposits of who-knows-what in it. We boiled some water for our day and both of our water bottles has a thick layer of sandy white powder on the bottom, and when we drank it the deposits felt like swallowing sand. It is insanitary. Attached is the photo of the kettle after a lot of cleaning. You can see some of the dull white muck on the side and the bottom. Unfortunately, the complimentary bottle of water was only given to us on the first day. We had to buy one 2l bottle of water to share between 4...
