Yellow Tile Coffee Project — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Came here twice… had a flat white on the first day and it was great - balance of milk and texture was great.

However, on day 2 the experience was very average. Saw a barista doing V60 so decided to try. Unfortunately, after a long while I didn’t get to hear the wonderful sound of the EK43. The cafe wasn’t busy and there were 3 of them. They just seemed unorganised (maybe it was a Sunday). I asked for a flat white as replacement. I saw the barista fiddled with a couple of jugs before pouring in fresh milk. I suspect she re-frothed some milk… god forbid. She also had to wait for another person to do the pour. Even for a casual visitor like me, you can tell walking in that this place is an institution. The place was full of regulars on a Sunday afternoon, without feeling crowded. Plenty of quiet places to tap at your laptop, with space for socializing too. They were also hosting an outdoor Christmas market with local designers.

I enjoyed an excellent Brazilian batch brew fresh from their Moccamaster, while my spouse had a cappuccino- both delicious. I appreciated that they participate in a nation-wide scheme for our reusable takeout cups, which I was able to return for a refund looking over the...

Maybe I'm biased because I know the owners of this place personally, or maybe that just makes me a better judge. I worked with one of them for over two years and know him as someone who deems high quality, economically friendly, and especially tasty products as very important.

I can say with very high confidence that you'll never get anything sub-par here. (My hot chocolate and grilled cheese today were fabulous!) The interior is tastefully decorated - modern but also comfortable. They also have a nice meeting space you can rent!
