The lunch menu is not Sichuan cuisine at all. We made a mistake ordering the knusprige Hähnchen mit Gongbao Sauce thinking it was gongbao chicken with weird german translation. The boss told us we ordered the wrong one but he assured us that the sauce in that lunch menu was still the gongbao sauce with fragrant and spicy taste…except it was not! We know what gongbao is, and that sauce was not it! It was just salty-sweet and not fragrant at the slightest. We couldn’t taste any spices in it, no chili pepper 胡辣味 taste at all, no peanuts. What’s the point of naming it gongbao sauce? Granted, the OG gongbao chicken they also offer in a la carte might be better than the monstrosity in the lunch menu. But them claiming to be authentic Sichuan while serving such dishes in the menu doesn’t seem right.
The yuxiang eggplant from a la carte was not so good either, too sweet and again not so fragrant.
Usually we’ll give restaurants another try before deciding, but the attitude of the boss/servers also threw us off. There is a some good authentic Sichuan restaurants in Munich, so we’ll not come back here. Better go to Yanyou if you crave Sichuan cuisine, they serve authentic yummy dishes with nice service . Even the newly opened Fan in the city centre is better than this restaurant, serves lunch menu including gongbao chicken which is also...
Read moreI am absolutely livid about my experience with this restaurant.
My friend and I had made a reservation one week in advance for the Chinese New Year dinner, but when we called the restaurant on that day, they informed us that they had no available seats and had the audacity to cancel our reservation on the spot.
The worst part was their terrible attitude - the woman who answered the phone and spoke to me was unprofessional, unapologetic, and even had the nerve to say "Yes, it's our fault, but we don't have any available seats. Can I just hang up?" She spoke to me in a very self-righteous tone, which was extremely disrespectful.
We even suggested a compromise solution of picking up our food ourselves, but she kept saying that they didn't have time to cook for us. We were trying to be friendly and find a solution for the mistake they made, but they clearly didn't care about us as customers.
We had been looking forward to this new year dinner for a whole week, and they completely ruined our special occasion. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone - the staff clearly don't care about their customers and don't deserve...
Read moreI would have rated 0 star if it is possible. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. A week earlier we called them and booked a table for today 6PM which is the Chinese New Year eve. And today at around 5PM we were told that our appointment didn’t exist, because the employee who picked up my call last week was new and didn’t know how it works. He confirmed our appointment even though they were already fully booked. They said they later tried to call me and tell me the book wasn’t successful but couldn’t reach out to me because I have a Dutch number……… We suggested that we can drive by and pick up the food, but the lady told me that “we can’t do that, it is not possible. We know it is our mistake but there is nothing I can do. Can I hang up the phone now?” It is normal to make mistakes but it is the attitude to deal with it which matters the most. We as customers were trying to find a solution to compromise, but all we got was:” can I...
