Tokyo Sky Running Sushi — Restaurant in Starnberg

As an American visiting this place, it was a little confusing at first. The staff was friendly and eventually seated us at the rotating sushi bar. There are two levels, unlike most Japanese sushi bars of one, but it was nice to see two. The upper level is all the fried and hot foods. The lower level is the traditional Japanese plated cold sushi fare. Price is not determined by plate color, like in Japan, since it is all you can eat, and the selection was good.

I believe the staff can speak English, but Google Translate is your friend here. Price wise, it was matching to all you can eat Sushi places back in my hometown, to the dollar.

Make sure to park in the parking garage nearby, as parking in free spots nearby can be difficult. The cost for parking was average for Germany, 2.50 EUR an hour.

I'm not sure they have hot sake there, but a Sake Bomb would've been perfect "one two punch to my mouth" combo on a cold November day!!! Please add it to the menu owners. Another good addition would be Teriyaki dishes. Teriyaki sauce is easy to make or purchase.

I will say the wasabi was fresh and super hot, they way I like it, but you have to be patient and keep watching the lower conveyor for it to spice up your side tray first.

Overall, this place has good potential to excel to higher ratings with some minor additions. I think Germans like to rate higher than normal places in America on Google, so lower the rating by .5 to get closer to American ratings on all German reviews.

I would recommend this place to friends and family, so keep up the great work, Tokyo Sky...

My experience at Tokyo Sky Running Sushi

Definitely not what I expected. I read that it is hard to get a seating place here so I reserved a table, but I still had to wait 15 minutes to get a free table! That table wasnt at the running sushi bar as I requested, so me and my group had to go to the other side of the restaurant to get our food, as they didnt have table service or only a VERY slow one. Parking was also not free and hard to find.

Now to the food. Honestly I found the food was fresh, traditional and tasted great. They had a large variety of food. This place is also great for non-sushi lovers as they also serve a lot of other dishes like chicken nuggets, chicken dishes, soup, rice and more traditional asian food.

The staff was not very friendly, extremely slow and inconsiderate! Worst service ever! Based on the quality and the portion, they offer quite reasonable prices.

Overall my experience here was fine. Recommended for a one time experience. Definitely not a...

Haben bisher viele Running Sushis Restaurant ausprobiert und das ist bisher uns Favorit obwohl unsere Anfahrt fast 40 Minuten beträgt!

Waren bisher bereits viele Male dort und empfehlen es jedem der uns nach einem Lokal dieser Art fragt. Das wichtigste ist natürlich, das man das System, welches hinter einem Running Sushi Lokal liegt auch mag!

Das Essen war bisher immer sehr lecker, auch die Auswahl an Sushis ist mal etwas anderes (Siehe Foto). Denn eine Inside-Out-Roll mit grünem Spargel gefüllt und gebratenem Rindfleisch hatten wir bis dato noch nie!

Die Lokal ist nett aber auch nicht mehr oder weniger – wir kommen zu mindestens nicht wegen der Ausstattung, sondern wegen dem Essen.

Zum Thema Personal, dieses ist nett und wir haben bisher noch nichts Negatives erlebt.

Es war zwar das erste Mal etwas komisch, als die Kellnerin uns fragte ob wir uns umsetzen könnten (saßen natürlich am Running Buffet) an einen anderen Tisch. Denn die Schlange der wartenden Leute zog sich mittlerweile bis nach draußen und wir waren ja auch schon seit ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Essen fertig waren und unterhielten uns noch. Sie war dabei nett, höfflich und bot uns ein Getränk aufs Haus dafür an. Natürlich kommt es einmal erstmal seltsam vor aber ich kann es nachvollziehen, denn zu 85% sitzen die Leute im Lokal nur am Buffett – deswegen hatten wir auch Verständnis.

Was ich jedoch sehr hervorheben muss ist, dass bei unserem letzten Besuch als meine Frau noch schwanger war und wir fragten was Sie den essen könnte (also wo keine rohen tierischen Zutaten vorhanden sind) man uns sehr weitergeholfen hatte. Der Kellner bracht ihr sogar einen extra Teller mit vegetarischen Sushi da zu diesem Zeitpunkt auf dem Band nicht so viel hiervon vorhanden war.

Preis / Leistung passt unserer Meinung nach – JA es ist etwas teurer als andere vergleichbare Lokale aber man merkt den unterschied.

Werden weiterhin hier zum essen gehen, bis wir was deutliche besseres finden.
