Response to The Restaurant's comment: Considering your immaturity as you displayed yesterday, I expected you to embrace lies and manipulation. So here is my response to your lies: I "REQUESTED" the waiter in the most polite way to kindly get the water as soon as possible as we were very thirsty!! I "REQUESTED" while placing the order that we want Still Water at NORMAL TEMPERATURE. I even went ahead and explained that we had Cold a few days back and that's why we can't have cold water. The waiter by mistake got COLD water. He himself realized the mistake and before we could say something, he went back and got the bottle that was not cold.

During all this, the waiter behaved in a very professional way.

The problem started when we said we want to pack things. What happned then onwards, I have already explained it. I decided to post this comment only because the manager himself turned out to be most immature.

As it is my right to comment my experience, it is the right of the restaurant to give a response. So, I can't do anything if they lie and want to portray us as unprofessional.

However, I want people to know two things: I had given a review for Kashmir-Echterdingen Branch from around A YEAR EARLIER. The 5-Star review reads: "Only authentic Indian restaurant I have found in Stuttgart!!... especially so many varieties of starters!!.. all the dishes were great. Staff is also very friendly!" Due to policy guideline I can't attach the screenshot. But you can clearly see it in my profile. I hardly give reviews. People can see in my profile that I have given only around 8 reviews in total!! However I give reviews when I am extremely satisfied OR extremely dissatisfied. So you will find the reviews where I am praising with 5 starts, or where I am narrating a pathetic incident with 1 star.

So I request people to have a look at what I have mentioned in Point 1 & Point 2 here, and decide for themselves what might have happened in reality.

I DON'T HAVE ANY PLANS OF RESPONDING TO ANY MORE LIES FROM THE RESTAURANT. REVIEWS ARE MEANT TO HELP PEOPLE. LET PEOPLE JUDGE IT THEMSELVES.

Original Review:

This is supposed to be one of the best Indian restaurants Stuttgart. However, the branch in Weilimdorf (Pforzheimer Str. 309) has a way of spoiling the entire mood through their cheap behaviour, despite providng tasty food. I have seen this many times here at this restaurant but this time I felt they sank to a new low.

I had gone for dinner with my wife as we wanted to celebrate something. We ordered more than enough food for two people which you can see in the bill attached. However in the end the manager refused to provide sufficient packing containers to carry home the left over food!! In the pics you can see that I was not asking for any fancy container. First they said, we can provide only one small container. Then they said we can give you two samll containers but a big one will cost you. All this while the manager was giving non sensical reasons like 'containers cost us money', 'we don't provide container to carry rice because we give it as complimentary' etc.

I have been in Stuttgart sice 2018 and go out to restaurants atleast 4 times in a week. However, in no elegant restaurant I have seen such a cheap behaviour irrespective of the cuisine. Moreover literally every Indian restaurant gives rice when you order a gravy dish from main course. So it is in no way complimentary. It will be even written on the menu that everything is served with rice!!

Finally they said we can give you big container this time but next time we will charge as if they were doing a huge favour. So, I refused and told then that as they believe that they are right, put that in my bill and I will pay for it. You can see in the picture of the bill that they have charged me 1.5 Euros for the container.

It was never about money. It is about certain things that you expect from an elegant restaurant. Unfortunately, Kashmir Restaurant wants to be considered as elegant while acting like a cheap take...

Update after reply from Kashmir: From the reply, it just proves how unprofessional and dishonest is the staff from Kashmir. If somehow, any responsible from Kashmir is reading this, please try to be honest and do a retrospection. We had a reservation at 18:30 on 27.01.2024, please check the name Varma in your register or your system. We didn't have to wait for seats as we were offered a table for 5 immediately(even if we were 3). The waiting time mentioned below was after getting the seats. We also do not have a small kid who cannot read. Our kid is already in upper primary, so I believe reading shouldn't be a problem. It is another lie that we kept water bottle as we didn't bring anything and this was another reason for frustration as our orders even for drinks were not taken. So, please try to be more professional and please check the facts properly before posting a reply Also, we were never rude to anyone, but we told before leaving that it is really disappointment as we wasted an evening in Kashmir. Thank you. I cannot rate the food as we were not served anything. We waited for more than 20 minutes to get the menu. Then even after another 20 minutes, no one was willing to take our order. We were totally disappointed to see that orders were taken from others who came after us. On seeing this we decided to leave immediately, since we expect an equal treatment for every customer. 40 minutes without even taking an order for drinks is height of pathetic service. Personally, we will never visit or recommend...

We tried the Maharani Veg Menu. It starts with a tomato soup and Papad with dips . Soup was good. Papad was not properly roasted. Dips were tamarind based, yoghurt based, mint-coriander based. The starters plate had paneer tikka,samosa,paneer pakoda and cabbage/onion pakoda. Samosa was great. Paneer was soft but not spicy. After that we reaffirmed to them that we had told "Indian spicy". Well then we were served Dal, Shahi paneer and mix veg along with Butter Naans. Their Butter Naans were super soft. But the sides very too spicy to handle. It felt like chilli powder was added at the end and was felt raw spiceness. Well,it might be good for those who want extra spicy. But be aware before you tell them Indian spicy.(probably Indian medium spicy would be better) Pulao was mild and flavorful. Well you might find brocolli,zucchini as well in dishes which is uncommon in India. At last, we were given kulfi. Didn't enjoy the mango syrup on top.The kulfi by itself was amazing.(So probably you could ask if the mango syrup is reqd)

Overall a good experience. Definitely recommended and would love to visit to try the non veg dished with medium spice level.
