I will preface by saying the food was good, but this is some of the worst service I have ever received from a restaurant and I found it to be totally unacceptable.
When we arrived for our 16:30 reservation we were seated in the corner of the patio with no overhead covering. After ordering our drinks, it gradually began to start pouring rain. The server took 5 whole minutes after seeing it was raining to tell us where we could move. There was no attempt made to extend the shade cover over the patio (to block the rain) and no care shown towards any of the customers. We were then told to go inside and “wait to be reseated”. What this meant apparently was losing our view of the vineyard and having to sit in the hot dark interior. We asked several times about sitting under the covered patio (where there was half capacity), but were redirected to a different server each time. Who our server was I couldn’t tell you.
As we sat down, I could see the drinks we ordered 10 minutes ago sitting on the counter, the bar remaking one that they messed up. I should mention that the restaurant was no where near busy during any of this.
We then waited 10-15 minutes before a server finally asked us what we wanted to order. During this time new guests arrived who were seated directly to the patio. We had made a reservation to be there just like everyone else, and we found this incredibly unfair given we had asked our waiter(s).
Our food came out slowly but was very enjoyable. The dessert took almost 30 minutes to come out, however, and during that time the 4-6 waiters were drinking and on their phones. During our visit we were not checked in on once besides when it was strictly necessary to give to take the dishes.
Overall I was extremely disappointed in an experience I commuted hours for from Heidelberg. I will not be coning back and I would recommend others to find a different vineyard...
Read moreI was deeply disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Upon entering, we were told there were no available seats, so we decided to get ice cream to go. However, we soon noticed empty tables and requested to sit down. The waiter reluctantly seated us, but the real shock came when our ice cream was served in cardboard cups. Even the guests at the next table were visibly surprised. I have never felt so humiliated in my life. This level of service is unacceptable for a German restaurant
Update- Thank you for your reply. When we entered, everything seemed normal, with staff and guests proceeding as usual. Other guests were also seated without rain protection next to us. Your response seems aimed at influencing readers' opinions rather than sincerely addressing our concerns. I am truly sorry for your staff member who was bitten by a dog, but this does not excuse the poor...
Read moreThe food looked good, but unfortunately, we did not get the chance to try any as we were overlooked by the wait staff for 1h before we decided to leave the restaurant and find dinner elsewhere. We were sat without a reservation, however, that does not excuse the poor service and blatant disinterest by the staff - especially since we had talked to the host multiple times to make sure we can be seated and stay for dinner without affecting existing reservations.
The party on the table next to us was also having issues getting service. We were both waving to the wait staff multiple times without being acknowledged (if not straight up ignored).
