An An — Restaurant in Tübingen

I came here a couple weeks ago with high expectations, as the food isn't all that cheap.

Good:

many vegetarian options sushi was delicious

Bad:

service was quite poor; we waited for some time even though we had a reservation. At the end of our visit, the waiter didn't bother to take the money and bill from us at the table. We had to bring both up to them personally

I ordered 8 maki-sushi and only received 6. Only upon asking did the waiter claim that the rolls were cut larger than usual, resulting in less sushi. *The sushi pieces weren't huge to begin with, so 2 more on my plate wouldn't have hurt

I also had an okra-curry. However, there was no okra inside the curry. Instead, other vegetables that weren't listed in the menu -- would be problematic if someone had an allergy; would be great if they informed their guests when they make alterations to the dish!!

The restaurant itself looks nice. The food is more on the sweet side, but it's a Vietnamese restaurant after all. The service is okay. The reason of saying so is that we went as a group of three and asked for a certain table. But the guy who worked there didn't agree and said that it's a table for four people. So he put us at a not-so-pleasant spot (right next to the counter and where all the people have to pass). But soon there were three people coming in and the guy put them at the table we asked. Those three didn't reserve a table either. Why the different treatments? Lesson learned is either going during non-peak hours or reserving a...

UPDATE! Das wars mit dem An An! Das ist keine Gastro, sondern Imbissmanier! Als Gast bekommt man ohne Ankündigung, trotz Reservierung 1,5 Stunden für Essen, Getränke und Nachtisch! Da kommt dann der Kellner an den Tisch, fragt, trotz halb voller Gläser, " noch ein Getränk?". Wenn nicht, dann haben sie noch 10min. Mussten schnell austrinken, zahlen und gehen. Das kann ich auch in einem Imbiss haben, günstiger und davon gibts zum Glück genug in Tübingen!!! Das war zum wiederholten Male so, nein Danke! Gastro soll verdienen, aber bei einer Rechnung weit über 100€ den Gast rauszuschmeissen ist Profitgier! Unterstützen dies Art der Gastro nicht mehr!

Sehr sehr saucenlastig, auch auf dem Sushi. Qualitativ hat es für mich mit der Zeit sehr nachgelassen. Das Tempura ist hart, das Sushi zum Teil nicht fest gerollt. Die Pho Suppe kenne ich auch besser und würziger. Auch die Hauptgerichte waren zu Beginn besser paniert und besser gewürzt. Insgesamt ist das Restaurant sehr eng und alles wirkt, v.a. der Chef sehr hektisch und profitorientiert. Habe schon erlebt wie er Gästen sagte sie sollen gehen, weil eine Reservierung nur eine Stunde gültig ist. Einen bestimmten Tisch zu reservieren ist auch nicht möglich. Ich habe auch jetzt schon erlebt wie Leute während dem Essen umgesetzt wurden, weil andere Personen kamen, um alle Plätze zu belegen, um mehr Profit zu machen!? Ich selbst wurde auch schon beim Mittagstisch zwei Mal umgesetzt bis ich dann im Gang saß. Wenn Gäste nein sagen, werden sie mehrfach bedrängt. Die Bedienung vergisst oft Bestellungen. Insgesamt ist das keine Athmosphäre, die zum Verweilen einläd. Es wirkt sehr profitorientiert und Gäste werden schnell schnell abgefertigt. Nachbestellen von Getränken ist dann auch schwer, weil Einen die Bedienung gar nicht mehr anschaut, vermutlich damit man aufgibt und den Platz für Andere frei macht. Wer schnell mal sein Essen essen möchte...
