DO NOT GO HERE. VERY RUDE. Our family (who is from Traben-Trarbach) went here the day before us and highly recommended the food. Our family is from Traben-Trarbach so we came here for dinner based on their recommendation. What we can assume is because we were visiting from America, they treated us completely different. We spoke to them in German the entire time and were very polite. They did not provide us a menu to eat and they were rude to us about sharing a plate. 2 out of 3 us had gastric bypass and cannot physically eat a full meal. We still tried to buy 2 full meals and have one person share. They would not allow us to share, so we decided to just have drinks instead. We planned to eat there, but because they were so rude, we paid for our drinks and went across the street to eat. We went in cause it was cheap, low expectations after reading the menu ordered something boring: snitzel mit pommes first a small side salad came out with carrot which had an amazing flavour and some pickled cucumber with dill and crunchy lettuce with the best ranch ever. Die Gerichte sind gut zubereitet (das Wiener Schnitzel schön knusprig, gleichmäßig geklopft), die Preise günstig und die Bedienung freundlich. Warum also nur 3 Sterne? Das Hauptproblem, da waren wir uns alle einig, ist die sehr sehr kleine Auswahl auf der Speisekarte. Klein bedeutet 6 Gerichte, wovon 2 dasselbe sind (Schnitzel groß, Schnitzel normal) und eins eher schlicht (Ofenkartoffel).
Zwei Gerichte (Currywurst, Bratwurst) waren leider nur mittags verfügbar (wir kamen abends) Und als ein wenig-Fleischesser von uns den Salatteller mit Hähnchen bestellte, hieß es: „den gibt es leider aktuell nicht, da kein guter Salat zu bekommen war“. Ein anderer Gast hatte verkündet, dass er schon direkt wusste was er will und auch diesen Salatteller geordert – mit dem selben Ergebnis. Es scheint also durchaus Bedarf nach einem weniger Fleischlastigem Gericht zu geben und wir haben auch zu jedem Gericht einen kleinen Teller mit gemischtem Salat bekommen. Warum man dann den großen Salatteller nicht einfach in angepasster Form anbietet habe ich nicht verstanden.
Am Ende waren wir satt, aber nochmal werden wir hier nicht einkehren. Dafür ist uns die Wahl zwischen Schnitzel und Winzersteak einfach zu wenig.
