La Piazza Pizza&Pasta — Restaurant in Ulm

Heading back home from Italy, we stopped in Ulm (Germany) for a good night’s rest. The clerck at the hotel we stayed at recommended the Italian restaurant, not far from the hotel. And indeed! From the outside the restaurant looked closed, but once we entered we heard the many Italian people that we already seated and eating (always a good sign if there are Italians eating :) ). We ordered a pomodoro salad, a salmon lasagna, penne arrabiata and a pizza quattro formaggi with sparkling water and a glass of their fine red house wine. Everything was really delicious. I have no complaints with the Food. It is good. But because of how we were treated as a guest, I rate it overall as Fair. The service was really bad. It didn’t just happened once but twice that we were dismissed. The first time was making us wait for more than 30min when we reserved for a specific time. We let that slide. But this time, the Second time around, we were standing there waiting for the empty table to have us seated and gave the table to someone who didn’t also reserve. We are even regular guests every week ordering pizza. Sadly we wont be visiting...

Ich bin extra erst um 20:30 Uhr essen gegangen, da für gewöhnlich dort voll ist. Wenn es danach geht, sieht man die Inflation nur auf der Karte. Insgesamt war die Pizza gut, aber etwa 2€ zu teuer. Einerseits war zu viel Tomatensoße und zu viel Käse drauf, wohingegen beim Belag gespart wurde. Andererseits ist es außen mit den Verkehrsgeräuschen an der Kreuzung unangenehm. Innen hingegen war das Ambiente super, schlicht, aber mit mediterranen Akzenten, gestaltet. Es werden jedenfalls auch mehrere Gerichte angeboten, die man bei vielen anderen Italienern vergeblich sucht. Der Service war auch gut, stets mit Ruhe und Spaß unterwegs und am Ende gab es noch einen Schnaps spendiert (bei regelmäßigen...
