Cafe Sichtbar — Restaurant in Vereinbarte Verwaltungsgemeinschaft der Stadt Göppingen

Food and coffee are okay, but I'm not sure if the same can be said about the service.

It was not such a busy day with around 70% cafe empty and the gentleman behind the counter asked me what I'd like to have. I told him Cappuccino 'To go' please. To my surprise he picked up a glass cup and started making the coffee. I thought maybe he's making it for someone else who may have ordered from the table before me. He then set it out in front of me and told me what it cost (It was €3.50). I reminded him that I told him I ordered 'To Go'

To which he was like 'Oh no, what did I just do' and I said, don't worry buddy, we can all make mistakes. But then what he did was a disaster. He took a 'Take away' cup and poured the already made coffee into the cup and closed the lid and gave me the take away cup, which had drops running on the side which came from the glass cup.

I didn't like it one bit as I drink my coffee with the foam and the coffee how it's made, if I have to drink it like that, why would I go to a bakery? I could make this at home in my microwave too.

But because I thought okay, maybe he's having a bad day, let's leave it, I'll just drink it this way, I handed him €4 in 2 coins of €2 each.

If you see my previous reviews, you can see I always give 5 stars to pretty much every place, as I'm quite an optimist.

But the icing on the cake here came, when the guy took the €4 and said to me 'Danke, einen schönen Tag noch' and gave me a smile.

😂 like he didn't even bother offering me my change, he just decided that his service was worth the 50 cents that he was supposed to pay me back.

With so much happening, I just walked out as didn't wanna cheap out by asking him to give me my 50 cents, but in all seriousness, had he been a bit nicer about the whole thing, I would have definitely tipped him (as I have a 10% tipping rule, when I'm eating out and feel happy with the service, 5% when the service is okay and no tip when the service is bad).

In this case, when he poured the coffee from the cup into a take away cup, I had already decided to not tip him.

But the guy played the Uno reverse card by tipping...

Das Café punktet mit einer schönen und gemütlichen Atmosphäre, besonders in der Weihnachtszeit, die für eine festliche Stimmung sorgt. Leider wird dieser positive Eindruck durch mehrere Schwächen getrübt. Der Platzmangel ist deutlich spürbar, sodass kaum Bewegungsfreiheit besteht. Zudem hinterlässt der Service einen sehr negativen Eindruck: Die Mitarbeiter wirken unfreundlich, schlecht gelaunt und arrogant, was die Atmosphäre stark belastet. Man kriegt den Eindruck, dass keiner dort Bock hat auf sein Leben hat. Die Preise erscheinen überzogen und stehen in keinem Verhältnis zur Lage – schließlich handelt es sich um Göppingen und nicht um eine Metropole wie Stuttgart oder Berlin. Ich glaube die Besitzer denken sie seien in Paris. ( kommt mal runter aus eure Phantasie). Dazu kommt, dass keine Kartenzahlung möglich ist, was in der heutigen Zeit unzeitgemäß wirkt und einen fragwürdigen Eindruck hinterlässt. (Steinzeit?) Da sollte mal das Finanzamt auf jeden Fall ein Auge drauf haben. Insgesamt reicht das charmante Ambiente nicht aus, um die vielen Schwächen zu überdecken – der Besuch war leider eine...

Nice little coffee shop in the heart of a little cozy town.

Drinks: We had cappuccino and Late macchiatto. Well done and tasty.

Price: Prices are mid-range.

Staff: Quite nice ;)
