Slaughterhouse Brew — Restaurant in Vereinbarte Verwaltungsgemeinschaft der Stadt Nürtingen

The service was lovely and professional. We all had some sort of extra wish, but the waitress was very patient with us. The beer was also very good.

The meat dishes also looked great! Obviously a restaurant named slaughterhouse wouldn't be the first place for vegans/vegetarians to go, but I appreciated that there were at least some meat free options. However, I had the lentil salad with tofu, and it was lacking some ingredients. It was a big plate of lentils with dressing and tofu, it would have been nice to have some more vegetables or a slice of bread with it for some variety.

Also, (maybe I'm biased) the big close-up animal photography combined with the still hanging metal hooks and tiled walls seemed uncanny. Obviously this is a rustic restaurant but hanging my coat where pigs used to hang made me feel uneasy. I think the rustic vibe was translated so well with the wooden furniture and...

This is a very nice restaurant located in an old slaughterhouse ( at least that is what it looks like on the inside, this offers a great setting). Mainly meat dishes and they offer a wide range of them. A few beers available as well ( including their own beer). Staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived late that evening and ordered in advance, which worked out pretty well. They replied immediately to emails sent which was really great.

We had the baked potato with herb quark and salmon ( the only fish on the menu :) and the Brauhausrumpsteak with Krautetbutter. These were very good. As it was warm we sat outside...

Nach insgesamt zwei Besuchen wird es nun Zeit für eine Rezension. Während der erste Besuch insgesamt okay war - das bestellte Schnitzel kam recht zügig und hat alles in allem auch ganz gut geschmeckt - war Besuch Nummer zwei eine absolute Katastrophe. Wir mussten weit über eine Stunde auf das Essen warten. Und das, obwohl nur eine überschaubare Anzahl an weiteren Gästen anwesend war. Auf Nachfrage, wann denn unser Essen serviert wird, kam nur eine recht abfällige Antwort, man hätte parallel noch eine Gesellschaft zu bewirten und die sei nun mal jetzt dran. Wir sollen uns halt noch gedulden, unser Essen wird danach serviert. Bitte was? Sorry, aber so etwas interessiert mich nicht, wenn ich vorab davon nicht informiert werde! Wenn es etwas länger dauert (was ja durchaus mal passieren kann), dann informiert man den Gast entweder direkt bei Aufnahme der Bestellung bzw. teilt es ihm postwendend mit, dass es unglücklicherweise länger dauert. So etwas schafft meist Verständnis, vor allem wenn es in einem netten Ton vermittelt wird. Keinesfalls aber schafft man jedoch Verständnis, wenn man den Gast quasi dabei noch anblökt, der nach schon recht langer Wartezeit mal nachhakt. Sorry - ich bin als zahlender Gast doch nicht schuld, wenn die Küche mit den Bestellungen nicht hinterherkommt. Als das Essen dann schließlich kam, war es in Summe auch okay und immerhin gab es noch einen Espresso aufs Haus. Trotzdem war es ein gebrauchter Nachmittag.

PS: Es ist zudem nicht wirklich professionell, wenn auch Unstimmigkeiten innerhalb des Servicepersonals vor den Augen der Kundschaft...
