The Pfauen is new, cosmopolitan yet comfortable world class accommodation in a beautiful small town. The proprietor, Nico Burkhardt, his partner, & staff have created the very highest quality experience in a quaint, historic setting. There are two restaurants, one targeted more toward locals and business travelers (we ate there, yum!) and the other representing the most accomplished level of German culinary artistry. It’s not easy to get a table, so reserve ahead. |The included breakfast includes parties, cold items, and hot options (I.e. eggs, meat) cooked to order. My hairdresser wishes she had a hairdryer as nice as the one in the bath. The Wi-Fi is great and reliable. The bath included a shower and the longest tub I have ever occupied (deeply appreciated by this 6’ traveler).|Be aware: as a historic building, there is no elevator, though we found it easy to navigate the well-designed steps up and down to the 5th (!!) floor. |The staff was friendly, helpful, professional, and proficient in English. |The hotel is in the middle of town, but inexpensive parking is available quite literally 90 seconds away. Ein ungewöhnliches Restaurant!
In einer kleinen, schönen Gasse befindet sich das Kleinod.
Ich hatte absichtlich einen Tisch im " normalen " Restaurant reserviert. Da es noch ein kleines Restaurant mit einem Michelin-Stern 🌟 gibt, war ich sehr gespannt auf das andere Restaurant und muss sagen, dass meine hohen Erwartungen bei weitem übertroffen wurden.
Egal ob es das romantische Ambiente, den aufmerksamen, überaus freundlichen Sevice, oder das tolle Essen betrifft, war alles super!
Es gibt Restaurants mit einem Stern 🌟, in denen ich schlechter gegessen habe!
Zu den einzelnen Gängen gab es ein sehr gutes Brötchen mit gesalzener Butter, einer Kräutercreme und als besonderes Highlight sehr gutes Olivenöl zum Eintunken. Die Idee 💡 mit dem Olivenöl werde ich zuhause übernehmen!
Ich hatte das Pfifferlings-Menü. Besonders hat mir gefallen, dass es zum Rinderfilet zwei Saucen gab: Die selbstgemachten Nudeln wurden mit den Pfifferlingen in einer cremigen hellen Sauce serviert und zum Rinderfilet gab es viel dunkle Sauce aus Knochen....,toll! Eigentlich wollte ich noch Nudeln nachbestellen, aber die Portionen sind sehr üppig.
Einzig die Mirabellen-Tarte, die etwas zäh von der Konsistenz her war, hätte ich mir gerne, wie in der Speisekarte beschrieben, warm gewünscht, was einen schönen Kontrast zum selbst hergestellten Vanilleeis gegeben hätte und wahrscheinlich die Konsistenz der Tarte positiv beeinflusst hätte.
Als Romantiker hätte mir noch ne Kerze auf dem Tisch gefallen und die Serviette fand ich etwas rauh an den Lippen, aber ich sage nur, jammern auf hohem Niveau. 😀
Aussergewöhnlich war die Idee auf der Toilette ein Hörbuch von Anthony Bourdain, Bekenntnisse eines Küchenchefs, abzuspielen!🙃
Ich bin schon gespannt auf den Besuch des ein Sterne-Restaurants🌟 und freue mich im Herbst auf das Steinpilz-Menü.
Die Rechnung fand ich mehr als preiswert.
Jetzt werde ich wieder öfters im Raum Stuttgart essen gehen!
