Restaurant Kostbar — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Bad Saulgau

I went there with my family for lunch. Firstly the interior is very nice, clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. The drinks were very good, we had the ginger splash. Then we received our food... So, our kids had potato mash with fish fingers and noodles with tomato sauce. Obviously these are savoury foods, so why on earth would one decorate the mash with watermelon and the noodles with a slice of Orange??!! Not only does it NOT compliment the taste in any kind it just looks wrong...I don't get it... Further, fish fingers need to be crispy, so when one dumps it onto the watermelony potato mash they will just get soggy. So how about ditching the WATERMELON separating the fish fingers from the mash and there you have a solid meal. Same for the noodles, no need to put an Orange there, it does not go with plain old tomato sauce out of the can! Hubby and I had the pulled pork burger with wasabi sauce and sweet potatoes. It sounded good on the menu, but when it showed up, well again, we were just as confused as the watermelon in the mash... The pulled pork tasted so plain, yet the wasabi mayo so in your face topped with tomatoes, onions, salad... and pineapple! Yes, pineapple, because it goes so well with WASABI! Next to this burger were the sweet potatoes chips. Except they were not chips (fries). They were soggy, tossed in this curry like spice mix, topped with a good dose of wasabi mayo (just in case your nostrils weren't on fire yet, from the burger...)! Suggestion here: please tell the chef to go back to the drawing board, ditch this fusion confusion! Make a pulled pork with lots of flavour topped with coleslaw with a side of deliciously crunchy sweet potatoes! Back to basics mate, just go back to basics! Overall, I would certainly recommend this place for drinks with friends. If you are hungry though...well at least don't get the pulled...

Today we sat for a hot chocolate and a cappuccino. The service from the old lady with the glasses was awful. Not only she didn't see us for 15 minutes at least but also she didn't gave out change back. I thought that she was coming back but she took the money and she never returned our change. When I asked her, she said that she thought that it was a tip and she left.... unbelievable... I have worked in restaurants and cafes so many years and I have never see anyone...

Good place. For drink and gathering are great. Or just simple enjoy your coffee time. Most of the food are asian fusion. But the fusion style food is just not right. The taste is awful and expensive. There are a lot more better place to go and cheaper around Bad Saulgau.

The service is rude and not friendly. It feel like you need to beg.

Pretty much the good thing about this place is the place itself. It look high class but it doesn't serve...
