This hotel was my base during a company event in town. Their restaurant was pleasantly decorated in typical German Gasthaus fashion. The room was spacious, but could only be reached via stairway. There is no elevator and it is not suitable for people with a physical disability who would have trouble climbing stairs. ||||The staff was not of the friendly kind. During my stay, I chose to leave the big, clunky key (real old school) at the hotel, so I wouldn't have to carry it around all day. On two occasions upon returning to the hotel, I accidentally inverted the numbers for my room. As they inquired about my name (as in identity check) the first time, they noted the mistake and corrected me. The second time, I was lectured that this had already happened the previous day and then paused and just looked at me in a way that reminded me of prosecutors in court. ||||During breakfast one morning, I had the audacity to ask if they had Tabasco available (as I wanted to use it on my scrambled eggs). My question was answered by the - visibly tired - waitress with a drawn out and somewhat surprised "Yeees." As that was all she said, I requested for her to then please bring it to my table so I could use it. Not sure I ever had to use detailed instructions like this after such a simple request.||||The interior design of the rooms and bathrooms carried the charm of the Seventies. The beds were very small and very uncomfortable, which left me with some back pain for the rest of each day. Needless to say, I would not return...

Read moreHere for a business trip. The hotel is also a restaurant downstairs which opens from 11.30AM to 11.30PM. The staff are friendly and ever present even though they are running around during meal times as they double as the waiters/waitresses as well as the hotel reception. As mentioned below, the access to the rooms are by stairs only. Not disable friendly. The room I got (21) has 3 single beds. The beds are alright but the pillows are very soft, not in a good way. The shower is excellent. Good shower pressure and hot water appears immediately. However there are no separate shower area thus you'll have to stand in the bath tub to take a shower. The room is also clean and there is an old crt tv available with mostly local stations. I think only CNN & BBC are the English stations available. You'll need to request for wifi login from the reception. The wifi is bad. I am only able to have a steady connection if I am literary next to the door. Anywhere else in my room will result in constant drop outs as well as speeds slower than 56k. Also if you walk past the restaurant to your room, your clothes will stink. The location is pretty good as it in direct in the centre of...
