I had to stay overnight in Weissenburg when on a business trip with my colleague. We found this lovely hotel directly on the main square. You can find free street parking in the vicinity (we parked behind the hotel near the butchers store and some local newspaper printingworks or whatever was that. Hotel is (or seems) old, but very "bayerish", warm, friendly. It has very distinct atmosphere and i must say we loved it. Rooms are simple - bed with above-average matress, small but working bathroom, no smell, mould or anything unpleasant, room was clean and well maintained. Heating was working flawlessly.||||For a family, room would be boring and too small, but if you are traveling in 2 people, its sufficient.||||The true highlight of this hotel, as mentioned earlier, is the atmosphere. You can see old wooden beams on the ceilings everywhere, original wooden doors, corridors are decorated with all sorts of antiquities. And dont get me started on the hotel restaurant downstairs. Great and authentic Bayerish food, large portions and well prepared, kind and friendly staff, good beer. We came around 18:30 for a dinner but stayed till around 22-23:00, just chatting and sipping beer after beer.||||To sum it up, if you dont expect a 4/5 deluxe hotel, you will be very pleasantly surprised. This hotel is a gem. Authentic, simple and properly aged (in a good sense!). Oh and very cheap too! Highly...
