Chez Afrique — Restaurant in Accra

This place has been one of my favorites places for a weekend "Live Band" experience. Still a small place even with the sitting outside. Now their food, for the price they're charging and the amount of the food is just ridiculous. I've bought same fried rice with chicken or fish from other restaurants. And you have more and you also pay less. I bought fried rice with grilled fish and I paid 90ghc. Also ordered fried rice with grilled chicken and paid same amount. The food came it was like a drop in a bucket. The food is way too small for the price they're charging. So if you going to Chez Afrique to eat I will say eat at home or somewhere else before going there. Just go there to buy may be a drink or two to enjoy...

The banku, tomato sauce and plantains were good. The chicken was stiff...looks like it was fried earlier and just microwaved before serving. There were pieces of feathers on it. Their card machine wasn't working. I had US$. The server asked what was the rate. I said the rate for small bills is 11:1. Whaddya know...she then said they give 10:1. I went ahead with it as I was tired and hungry. When the bill came, it was 10 cedi too much. I just left. Didn't bother to argue. I leave the country in the morning and had enough of Ghana. The place looks quite popular for drinks, so maybe go there to hang out and drink...but eat...
