EL Lounge & Spa — Restaurant in Accra

SPA: I went there to get a massage. Good points: The place is beautiful and very well taken care of. The welcome was good. Now coming to the massage: we were three including my son. I asked to have a massage for my son Request that was accepted. 🙏🏾 However, the other person who accompanied me had requested an Ionix Detox and the services were given in the same room... The first thing that surprised me... was that the light was turned on in the middle of his massage and relaxation to look at the results of Ionix Detox! So my son could not enjoy a deep relaxation at all and was violently awakened every time because of the ultra bright light that was turned on to check the result of the first client who was with me (it would be better to light on a phone to check it or put her in another room...) The masseuse was however very nice and did what she could.

When came the hot stone massage in duo... it was catastrophic. The masseuse who came to massage me (in addition to the one who had already massaged my son) was extremely unpleasant. She started by coming in and asking "should I be here? » to her colleague several time. Then she didn't introduce herself to me (on the contrary of the first one who was very professional) and she started the massage right away. Well... I didn't try to pay attention more than that on her rudeness. I really wanted to relax and focus on the positive.

It was too much when she burned me with the hot stones. And tried to make me look like I was exaggerating because according to her: she "can hold them in her hands" except that a hot stone that falls on you, on your back without you expecting it, yes it is surprising and each person has his own level of sensitivity! I didn't even have a single excuse!

The duo massage had started early for the third person I was with. And mine started lately (the second masseuse arrived later). It was surprise that my massage which was over in less than an hour when the other person was getting a belly massage, (we took the same hot stone massage!) something I had not been able to enjoy myself. I didn't even get a face massage.

It was her colleague who finally took the time to give me the belly massage I couldn't have. A shame.

The worst part was when my son was not calming down (because his massage was not relaxing) and came next to me to take my hand… and because she was angry about that: in the middle of the massage, this masseuse put my son on my belly without warning me! I was choked! Just when I was starting to relax completely.

This accumulation of inconveniences left me speechless.

It was the worst massage I have ever had in my life.

And not because of the place. Not because of the first masseuse, but because of one who didn't even have the disdain to say hello when she saw us in the waiting room and was in a hurry to go to her home.

She should know that she must have a heart for this job. If not, she has to look for another one.

I haven't been back since. Because I was very disappointed. I passed on the information to the reception and did not get any commercial gesture. Just an "Im Sorry".

And to top it all off, I was charged more than expected. And only noticed it when I came back. In short, a catastrophe.

I regret not having spoken directly to the person in charge that I had met.

I think that it is a combination of circumstances and that it is not related to the place but to a person who probably does not like her job and tarnish the image...

Beware!!! My car was broken into at El Lounge on Friday, 20th June 2025. Three bags with valuables were stolen. Shockingly, the staff were extremely rude and dismissive, showing absolutely no concern or willingness to help. The supervisor (Francis) claim to have access to all cameras except the one directly facing my car, which is mysteriously locked away in “the Director’s office”. This excuse has remained the same even until now. Their security guy ran off when we called the police, and no one from management has reached out or taken any responsibility. From what we gathered and according to records, this thing often happens at El Lounge. I strongly caution anyone thinking of visiting El Lounge east legon. Spa fantastic. Atmosphere serene and a place to visit for facials, massage and mail care. Just a great place to chillax. The hair salon was ok. Rita was excellent and very professional and great personality. Issue I had was the braid lady who didn’t want to work. Her attitude was a whole mess and that just put me off. Instead I took my braiding service somewhere else. I will visit to have my hair washed or weaves with Rita. All in all despite the little setback will...
