Hallab Gourmet 1881 Ghana — Restaurant in Accra

Quite a disappointing experience, but part of it was due to our predetermined expectations as we have such huge experience with Lebanese restaurants around the world ( Lebanon, Dubai, Egypt, Morocco & USA )

First shocking part is when we got our appetizer, we ordered Labneh and were shocked to have received a small bowl of it without any bread whatsoever… when we asked the waitress.. she said that “oh well it doesn’t come with bread, you’ll have to order it as an addition” . I’m sorry to say but imagine paying 7$ for a small side and you don’t even get bread ? I mean it’s literally a dip… how else would one eat it ? In my many experience with Lebanese restaurants i will say that one thing they take pride in is their in house bread, you’ll can order bread baskets after bread baskets and never get charged for it . In any case so we ordered a breadbasket and received 3 breads. Not bad though not enough so we just moved on to the main dish. We ordered a mixed grill platter and it was okey, alot of assortments and it was enjoyable but for a few ingredients that felt out of place, such as the tomato paste in two of the assortments tasted very sour and not quite up to the standard we expected. But overall okey. We then moved to dessert and got a Knefeh bel Eshta and honestly i would not recommend it. We did get other desserts and they were fine.

I wish i could say i enjoyed this place, i liked the vibes and being able to see fellow arabs around me, i assumed that meant the food was going to be very authentic but unfortunately it was the least liked Lebanese meal i’ve had and Lebanese food never...

I love love their dessert 🥰🤩 It’s just delicious 🤤

Experienced a poor service with the local staff I had specified and requested for takeaway And even after showing her the item I wanted

When I reached home

I had the complete different beef kabab .. I had asked for the minced meat one

Anyways I hated the takeaway and fed to dogs 😤

Cos I clearly told her well before ordering what I wanted

So plz make sure u check ur ordered before u take it home Cos the local staff don’t understand and just shake head...

One of my favorite places to eat in all of Accra. I’ve been there multiple times and I love everything on their menu. The place is clean, the staff is nice and service was fast. I heavily recommended their hummus and mixed grill platter. The desserts were to die for, I bought some for home. My favorite is the knafeh. The place is family friendly. Definitely...
