Maharaja — Restaurant in Accra

I had a very disappointing experience with Maharaja Restaurant, Melcom Spintex Road. I ordered the “Maharaja Special Mutton Biryani,” expecting it to be flavorful, but unfortunately it was completely tasteless.

The delivery experience was also very poor. Even though I live less than 1 km away, the restaurant asked for a very high delivery fee. To avoid this, I arranged my own Uber rider for GHC 19, but when he reached the restaurant, they kept him waiting for more than 30 minutes. Because of the delay, I ended up paying GHC 40.

When I called to complain, the staff and even the chef responded casually, saying only that “they will improve next time.” There was no apology, no offer of replacement, and no respect for customer feedback. The following day I even returned the food to the restaurant, but they simply kept it and never got back to me regarding a refund.

This level of service and food quality is unacceptable, especially for a restaurant with such a name and reputation. I hope the management seriously looks into improving both the taste of their dishes and the way they treat customers. Until then, I cannot recommend...

Went here for the first time . About a month ago May 10th to be precise .

Ordered for bread basket - which was all raw inside and not cooked well Paneer makanwala- was okay Chicken tandoor - again raw inside Vada pav was decent but the bread was like sugar bread

Over all bad experience because we ended up hving a bad stomach for the next 3 days

Almost like food poisoning .. so be careful before you order and ask them to cook well and ask if it’s really fresh

Their interiors is nice and well maintained and clean

But they really need to work on the food as I had a very bad week after...

Located at Melcom Mall -Spintex Branch, it offers authentic Indian food. I was served by a beautiful waitress Olivia and I remember her name because she was very sweet and at our service. I ordered the Murg Makhani (Butter Chicken) and it was tasty. The spices were good. I tasted the Kadai Chicken as well and it had a bit more heat which was also good. Their bread was really nice and it took about 25 mins to finish our order but that was because they had to make 6 different meals😂. I will definitely go back.
