Dendrolimano — Restaurant in Alonnisos Municipality

This is my third visit to Alonissos and in the past Dendrolimano has been high on my favourite places to eat but this year i hsve had two bad experiences. The venue is lovely looking over Votsi bay and the front of house staff charming friendly and helpful. It is the food that seems to have changed. Starters should be appetisers - that is stimulate - although nicely presented they are too large and too stodgy. I had pasta one night that was dressed with fennel oil but i couldnt taste the fennel and the pasta was drenched in oil - most unpleasant. The second time i had a lamb burger served ith roasted vegtables. The peppers were from a jar - cold oil and pickled. The eggplant was similarly cold and pickled. The burger was raw in the middle. It’s an amazing hidden treasure I can’t believe was not found in the classic Google searches for restaurants! We came as two people both nights consecutively as we were so excited to eat here again, the wild fresh sea bass with bitter greens and the homemade shrimp ravioli and all the prime fresh materials were balanced in flavor, this is an A list restaurant equivalent to a top Athenian one.
