PANOULIS — Restaurant in Alonnisos Municipality

We came here for dinner based on a lot of good reviews. The sympathetic but one (!) waiter was totally in the hustle and bustle and kept us waiting for a relatively long time, which didn't bother me or my wife, as the view of the bay is simply wonderful. We ordered many different dishes and also pointed out to the waiter that my wife is not allowed to eat cheese, so he should warn us whether any dish should contain cheese. But it wasn't like that, everything's fine for now. All dishes (grilled octopus, grilled calamari, grilled tuna) came with the same side, pickled white cabbage and sea fennel. First of all, it was of course more than stupid that we got a large amount of white cabbage and it was even more stupid that the waiter hadn't pointed this out to us because we had also ordered sea fennel, which we unfortunately couldn't eat. In addition there was calamari filled with cheese, which we had to send back straight away. The new calamari just wasn't freshly prepared, they sucked the cheese out and then brought it back to us, which was more than bad and cheap. Ultimately, this restaurant was the only disappointment on our long trip to Sporades and for this reason I would not recommend this...

Beautiful setting overlooking the little port of Votsi, however the food and service unfortunately didn't match the setting. The tuna spaghetti was tasty, however not sure it warranted the 16EUR price tag, however the chichen souvlaki was dry and served with frozen chips.. not even a hint of a salad garnish. Service was slow although staff were pleasant enough. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone as there are far too many other restaurants just down the road...

I went there first, expecting company to eat, so I thought I would just get a beer and wait. They didn't let me sit on the balcony with a view (although almost all tables were empty), and on the main place, they told me not to sit on the front row (again, almost all tables were empty).
