Perhaps the best family-owned, traditional restaurant on the entire island of Kefalonia (along with the other “Avli“ restaurant in Lixouri - same name, same philosophy). Very friendly service, tasty and economical wine and food prepared by a chef who knows what he is doing. We got the chance to talk to the chef and got to know him well. He is well traveled and unites the different tastes and flavors from all over the world by reinterpreting traditional Greek cuisine. For us, this is by far one of the best restaurants on the island. Fresh, traditional yet modern cuisine with international influences. The emphasis here is on quality at a fair price, unlike many other restaurants in the closer city. The family is super welcoming and offers fantastic service and the food is just a dream! The house wine also tastes very good (unlike in many other restaurants). We had a great evening and after such a short time we already felt like we were with friends. If we had stayed longer, we would certainly have come back more often.

This family run taverna is one of the best on Kefalonia. Please book via messenger as we’ve seen too many disappointing faces, being turned away, as they are constantly busy throughout the season.

Located in Ratzakli, it offers an incredible choice of foods and vegetarians are well catered for. Everything is reasonably priced with an assortment of cocktails, beer, wine and after dinner drinks.
