Tartarooga Beach bar — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

I’ve been visiting this island for over four years and have always had fantastic experiences, until now. As someone with friends in the local restaurant scene and a background in cooking for events, I know the basics of good customer service. If a dish is inedible and a customer complains, you either fix it, take it off the bill, or offer something in its place. That’s just Restaurant 101.

We ordered a burger for my daughter, a chicken burger for myself, and nuggets for my other daughter. My chicken’s panko crust was crisp, but the chicken itself was bone-dry/rubbery in places and had a yellowish tinge from being overcooked to the point of being absolutely inedible. I tried to eat it because I was starving, but halfway through I felt queasy from the texture and had to stop.

When I sent it back, to their credit, they did offer me something else. But I didn’t want to waste more food and honestly, after that, I didn’t trust another dish. My daughter’s burger was just average, and the nuggets were mostly panko with barely any chicken.

The real kicker: when I went to pay, they’d left that awful burger on the bill. I politely asked for it to be removed, and they flat-out refused. They claimed it was cooked “to perfection” and said they’d tasted the batch that morning. When I pointed out that they hadn’t tasted my actual burger, the staff got defensive and dismissive. The man even insinuated I just wanted a freebie, which was frankly insulting. We ate around 3pm and my hunch is that the burger was cooked earlier and recooked again or it was just overcooked.

In short, while the atmosphere and the music were lovely and the waitress was kind, the management was rude, the food was overpriced and inedible, and the way they handled the complaint was appalling. I’ve never felt the need to leave a negative review here before, but I can’t in good conscience recommend this place. Only came across this place after a visit to Mounda Beach, so glad we did! The cocktails are lovely and the food, well, it was superb. Lovely variety of things to choose from and the portion sizes are very generous. Everything we had was amazing and super tasty. The establishment itself has a great vibe, lots of comfy lounge chairs if you just wanted to chill and have a drink or two, and a section of table and chairs to have lunch. The view from the bar, wherever you sat, was just amazing. It's somewhere you could spend hours. All the staff were really lovely too. It was SO good we went back again the following day to sample more cocktails and food!...

What a lovely beach restaurant, I wouldn’t call a beach bar because this place offers so much more. Multi level Restaurant Terrace is overlooking beautiful beach and just few steps away from the sea.. Family owned and operated. Great menu , solid service. You can come here and spend the whole day, breakfast and coffee , swim in the beautiful waters , have lunch . Relax on soft couchions in the cozy lounge area while sipping delicious cocktails swim again or take a long walk on the beach and then stay for dinner and savor those wonderful coulinary creations.
