Olive Lounge Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

Had a wonderful meal here last night at the Olive Lounge, what beautiful setting with magnificent views from the terrace, we had prebooked a table and we greeted by very friendly and courteous staff and were taken to our table on the terrace. On looking through the menu our waiter came out with two glasses of bubbly as I had mentioned when booking that it was out 25th wedding anniversary which was a lovely touch, Liana the lovely owner of the restaurant came over and personally took our order for us and explained what each of the dishes comprised of, we ordered the mixed vegetables and feta in phylo pastry and honey which were both devine, our mains were the lamb shank for my wife and the spicy chicken thighs for myself and have to say both dishes were excellent with plenty of flavour and portion size was spot on along with a carafe of house White, we then went onto dessert with me having the orange cake and ice cream and my wife having the Greek doughnuts with chocolate and ice cream , warning these are lovely but very filling as my wife could only manage two out of the five and so I had to try one too. Such a beautiful relaxing atmosphere to dine in with such gorgeous food and wine to go with it.

The Olive Lounge is Kefalonia’s finest restaurant without shadow of a doubt. We loved it when it was in its’ old location but the new place is (literally) on another level! Just a fifteen minute drive or taxi ride from Lourdas, it’s up near the Castle of St George at Kastro, above Peratata. Liana has made the new location utterly stunning. The views are unsurpassed, the whole of Lourdas bay is before you to present a magical backdrop. The service is, as only Olive Lounge ever gave, is absolutely first class. Attentive, swift and knowledgeable, with just the right amount of input, so you can enjoy the atmosphere without feeling overwhelmed. The food.... Where to start! It’s amazing! Beautifully presented classic Greek cuisine, with an International twist. There really is something for everyone on the menu. The quality of the ingredients is superb and cooked to perfection. My husband had the Tomahawk steak and pronounced it the finest he’d ever had (this is a VERY fussy man!) Given how absolutely wonderful the whole experience is, the prices are much the same as any good Taverna in the area. I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant for a night to remember. From the second you wander through the gates of Olive Lounge, you know you are in for a special evening. Perched in the most beautiful location next to the famous St George's castle, the view of the Southern part of Kefalonia from the terrace is truly breathtaking. The waiters, dressed immaculately in crisp white shirts and traditional aprons are polite, attentive and friendly. Your hostess, Illiana is a born front of house expert. She weaves through the tables with grace and ease and takes the time to welcome each of her guests individually, and after leaving you for the perfect length of time to get settled and take in the glorious surroundings, she returns to personally take your order. The beautiful food, lighting, decor, music and atmosphere is magical and as the sun sets on this beautiful island, the mood of the restaurant changes again. Sitting under the stars with the moon coming up over the mountain, I can't think of any other place I'd rather enjoy a delicious, romantic, traditional Greek meal with my husband.
