A Memorable Sunday Lunch by the Sea

We recently enjoyed a wonderful Sunday afternoon lunch in this gem of a restaurant perched right on the beach of Kafas, Chios. From the moment we arrived, the setting itself made a lasting impression — a relaxed, seaside atmosphere with the sound of waves just steps away. It’s an ideal spot for a leisurely meal, and accessibility is clearly a priority, with available parking and accommodations for disabled guests.

The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Greek dishes. We explored both the regular menu and a selection of daily specials, which provided a nice opportunity to try something unique. Every dish we ordered was well-prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Whether it was grilled fish, seafood pasta, or a classic meze platter, everything was delicious and satisfying.

Service was another highlight. The staff were welcoming, efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. Even on a busy Sunday, our food arrived promptly and we felt well taken care of throughout our meal.

The location is very central, and having a lovely restaurant right downstairs is a big advantage. Everything we tried at the restaurant was genuinely delicious, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Free parking is a plus. That said, our stay had a few inconveniences. During our 6 night visit, we couldn’t connect to the internet from our room. We mentioned this several times, but unfortunately it was never resolved, and we could only access Wi-Fi from the restaurant area. The bathroom in our room was also not very practical. The shower tray was quite small, right next to the toilet, and the curtain enclosed both. This made it difficult to shower without getting the entire area wet. Busy but not overwhelmingly. Service was fine but when you have people's meals coming out before appetizers come out that should be an indication that something isn't going well. And having some people's meals coming out after others are already done and some appetizers still coming out. That's just poor service. Then mentioning something and being told that you shouldn't worry and everything will make it's way to the table? At least make an attempt. Food wasn't even that great comparable to other locations. Basically a huge disappointment. Fallen off compared to what it used to be. Overated and underwhelming. Only thing going for it is location but on an island that can only get you that far. Disappointments to say the least. The 1 star reviews are pretty accurate. Hopefully they can get their act...
