Taverna Pinaleon — Restaurant in Chios Municipality

We enjoyed this taverna off the beachside tourist strip so much that we returned the next evening for dinner again. The location was quiet and calm. The server welcomed us warmly, adjusted the blinds so the sun was not in our eyes, and explained the menu items. The specials are good value comfort food. The first night we had moussaka with chicken and pork kebabs. The second night we had stuffed tomatoes with pastitsio and the server remembered our preferred drinks orders. This is one of the best places to eat gyro and souvlaki!!! Feta cheese, Greek salad! I have been traveling all around Greece doing island hoping eating everywhere recommended by the locals, and I must say I enjoy the food here so much!

Best tavern in Karfas, but be careful you have to be insisting to get a table. Or you can go at around 21.00. They don't reserve for couples or small groups as they said. The food is very cheap but still too delicious. Absolutely try the octopus in red wine. Also gyros is too delicious and juicy.
