Neptune Ποσειδώνας — Restaurant in Chios Municipality

On Monday (14 July 2025) I ate sardines here as part of a tour I participated in and got poisoned. The end of my trip was terrible. This lunch stop was the last point of the tour and from here we went to the harbour to go back. About 30-40 minutes after the meal, I started to experience nausea. This nausea did not go away no matter what I did, I could not stand up in the ferry check in line. After I got off the ferry and went home, I took out all the food I ate. This episode happened once again, I spent a terrible night in the summer heat with complaints of chills, buzzing in my ears and dizziness. The reason I am explaining in detail is to make it clear that it is poisoning. Those who go to this restaurant serving stale fish should be careful.

My answer to the business owner's reply: I had breakfast at 9 a.m. I had ice-cream at 13 p.m. (dairy products are known to increase the effect of histamine when interacting with stale fish, which again indicates that the fish is troubled). At 15:30 I had sardines in this restaurant and drank coffee. This was my last meal that day. I had no stomach problems until this time. Around 17, nausea started. At 19:00 I took out all the fish, of which my stomach could not digest even one piece. Not all their products may be problematic, but even one incident indicates a problem with the storage of fish. I hope they will be more careful...

To the south of Chios is the beautiful Emperious bay, about 30 km away from the harbor. Here you can reach the mountain road in the forests because there is no convenient road from the shore.The road quality is good. Neptune Tavarna is located in this bay 10 meters away from the sea. This place is not much luxury but a very friendly restaurant.Main dishes are of course seafood. Especially the octopus must be tried. Service was very quick. Polite waiters don't make you wait long. The most important problem here is the parking problem. Their appetizers are delicious. You can calculate around 15 € per person. We are very pleased we hope you will love this place too

Sakız Adası'nın Güneyinde limana yaklaşık 30 km Uzaklıkta şahane Emperious koyu bulunmaktadır. Buraya kıyıdan elverişli yol olmadığından ormanlar içinde dağ yolundan ulaşıyorsunuz.Yol kalitrsi iyi.Bu koyda denize 10 metre uzaklıkta Neptune Tavarna yer alır.Burası fazla lüks değil ama çok cana yakın bir restoran.Ana yemekler elbette ki deniz ürünleridir. Özellikle ahtapot mutlaka denenmeli. Servis çok hızlı. Kibar garsonlar sizi fazla bekletmiyor. Buranın en önemli sıkıntısı otopark sorunudur. Mezeleri çok leziz. We visited several times during our stay in Chios and were pleased every single time. Located right by the sea in Emporios, this taverna stands out with its beautiful view and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and helpful. We tried many dishes on the menu; the fish and seafood were especially fresh and delicious. One evening, even though the kitchen was already closed, they kindly prepared fries for us upon request, which made us feel very welcomed. It’s a lovely place both at lunchtime and in the evening.
