We stopped by Taverna Billy’s while traveling through the area — the location was definitely a highlight. The taverna offers a lovely view of the sea, which made for a pleasant setting during our break.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the view. I ordered the gyros portion and was pretty disappointed. The meat was dry and pale, with no visible fat or juiciness, which made it look unappetizing and lacking in flavor. For the price, I expected something much better. They also served sparkling water in a plastic bottle instead of a glass one — a small detail, but glass bottles usually offer a more refined refreshment and keep drinks cooler for longer.
The staff were very polite, though not particularly helpful when I had a few questions. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t return specifically for the gyros, but I might consider giving their seafood a try if I find myself in...
