Aktaion Seaside Bar — Restaurant in Kassandra Municipality

Aktaion beach bar has an upper part among the trees, with dining area and couple of tents with sunbeds, which we preferred for our stays. Upper part is more relaxed. Bottom part is by the beach, very narrow and with very dense tents or umbrellas following pair of sunbeds. Bottom part is because of this density so crowded and was not pleasant for us. Plus to pay 15eur per person just to use the sunbed?! Seriously?! Water is warm and not many waves at nice weather. Not perfectly clear on the entrance, since there are small particles of sand making it look muddy. Also, entrance is with stones for first 2-3 meters and then goes the sand. If you swim over for 20 meters to the sea, water gets shallow again and it's much more clean. Lots of fish swimming around you proves clean water. On the service: we had a very nice waitress, she deserves 10 out of 5. Seems all staff is polite. Owner or manager of the beach was rude. Toilet is being locked couple times per day for at least 20 minutes for cleaning which is annoying. They open only 2 toilets in total although there are 2 more. I have never seen such approach with other beach bars. Lady cleaning the toilet was also nervous, and owner was banging toilet door while I was inside, because they wanted to clean it. Seriously, what kind of person does that? Can't you wait for me to finish and get out? Food: Limited choice, few picas, club sandwich, burger, salads, smoothies, beverages. This place is completely different than any other place: -you have a large parking area to leave your car, most of if under shaded pine trees. -there is an outdoor restaurant with a large yard of green grass, again partially in shade overlooking the sea. You may walk barefoot on the green grass looking at the blue/turquoise sea! -going down to sea level, you will find sunbeds and umbrellas: -- first row toward the sea: a tent with 2 or 3 sunbeds = 30 €. This is purely rental cost, no drink voucher. -- second row, umbrella and 2 sunbeds =20€, same conditions as above. there are some speakers playing music, sound levels are decent, music played was mostly instrumental/electronic like Jean Michele Jarre, Enya or calm nature sounds blending perfectly the cicadas' noise from the trees.

Most food on the menu comes from frozen batches, as signaled on the menu.

Beach is mostly with sand but also some round pebbles. In the water you'll find the same mix: sand / small pebbles / round rocks. Water depth takes a while to go over your head, there are no currents and a lot of snorkeling spots.

There were a lot of kids (under 10 years) swimming alone with their arm bands/fins/floating devices. Further away from this private beach there is plenty of room for your own gear/umbrellas.

Got drinks when we first arrived and took it with us along the beach, €16 for pina colada, strongbow red Berry and a disaronno spritze. Didn't have complete ingredients for disaronno spritze so only charged half price for this drink. Pina colada made with a lot of alcohol n was pretty strong (but I wasn't going to complain 😁😁) went along the beach and spent an hour in the sun then returned for dinner and more drinks. California burger was lovely so was the club sandwich, both came with chips/fries. 2 burgers, 1 culb sandwich,1 amstel,1 strongbow red, 1 pina colada , washed down with 1tequila sunrise, 1 blue lagoon, 1 paloma and 2 doughnuts. Dinner and 2 drinks for 3 people cost 82... all in all 1 hell of a walk but defo worth the view and the food was lovely ...... the drinks make u forget the walk back up 😁😁😁 they don't call it cardiac hill for...
